At a meeting of the scientific and technical council of the Central Research Institute of the Navy in St. Petersburg presented the concept of the Arctic Arc container class 7.

Arctic Container unlimited navigation area is a single-deck diesel-electric pyatitryumny with icebreaking bow. The vessel is designed for year-round transportation of high-latitude Northern Sea Route containers of international class, including the refrigerator.

The ship complies with the requirements of the equipment for continuous operation at low temperatures for a sign WINTERIZATION - up to 40 degrees below zero. The system utilizes hydraulic fluids and lubricating oils which are suitable when the calculated ambient temperature. The equipment for protection against icing corresponds to the sign of MS ANTI-ICE. All exterior doors are equipped with a heating cable. Stairs, platforms, fences, all exterior stairways are also equipped with heating.

The length of the container is 237 meters, width - 32 meters, depth - 20.5 m, speed - 20 knots. The number of crew is 30 people.
