DofD Latest Dredging & Ship Repair Contracts

Weeks Marine has been awarded a substantial dredging contract, and NASSCO a contract for the phased maintenance of  'USS Peleliu'.

Dredging contract (Army)
Weeks Marine Inc., Covington, La., was awarded an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, firm-fixed-price contract with a maximum value of $12,728,225 for dredging services in support of various projects.  

Work will be performed in West Baton Rouge Parish, La.; West Feliciana Parish, La.; St. Martin Parish, La.; and St. Mary Parish, La.  The type of appropriation will be determined with each order.  The bid was solicited through the Internet, with three bids received.  

The Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans, La., is the contracting activity (W912P8-13-D-0010).

Ship mainenance contract (Navy)
National Steel and Shipbuilding Co. [General Dynamics NASSCO], San Diego, Calif., is being awarded a $13,066,809 modification to previously awarded cost-plus-award-fee and cost-plus-incentive-fee contract (N00024-07-C-4013) for USS Peleliu (LHA 5) fiscal 2013 phased maintenance availability. 

A phased maintenance availability includes the planning and execution of depot-level maintenance, alterations, and modifications that will update and improve the ship's military and technical capabilities. 

Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif., and is expected to be completed by January 2014.  Fiscal 2013 Operations and Maintenance, Navyfunds in the amount of $13,066,809 will be obligated at time of award.  Contract funds in the amount of $13,066,809 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. 

The Southwest Regional Maintenance Center, San Diego, Calif., is the contracting activity.
