Chief Engineer Indicted

The US Attorney for the Eastern District of Texas stated that the chief engineer of a foreign tanker has been indicted for conspiracy, making false statements, and violation of the Act to Prevent Pollution from Ships. The charged offenses relate to alleged acts of bypassing the ship’s oily water separator and making fraudulent entries in the oil record book. The investigation of the incident is continuing.
