GC Hidromek, Aker JV to Develop Dredgers

GC  “Hidromek”  (Russia) and Aker Arctic (Finland) have signed the strategic partnership agreement  at NEVA 2015

GC “Hydromech” (Russia) Inc and Aker Arctic (Finland) signed an agreement on strategic partnership at the NEVA 2015 International Exhibition and Conferences yesterday.

The agreement signed until 2019 and provides for the joint development and promotion of ice class dredging vessels with additional functionality for working in the Arctic and the Far North.

The company are sure that such vessels are in high demand within domestic and  international  markets with the development of the Northern ports of Russia.

GC  “Hidromek”  (Russia) is a leader in the design and manufacture of dredges in Russia. The plant is a vertically integrated shipbuilding enterprise, including metallurgical, ship-and machining production.

The  stocks  of  factory  dredgers with a capacity of pulp from 100 to 8000 m3/hour and the depth of operation up to to 35 m deep. During its more  than  sixty-year  history, since 1950, the company produced more than 1350 vessels, dredgers of various types and designs.

Aker Arctic is a leading international design office specializing in the design of icebreaking vessels and other special ships of high ice class, also with offices in Finland and Canada.
