LandSea Systems Introduces Fleet55

LandSea Systems has introduced a new maritime high-speed terminal, the TT-3086A Capsat® Fleet55. The new terminal is the latest member of Thrane & Thrane's Fleet product family. The Capsat Fleet55 is smaller, lighter and lower priced than the successful Capsat® Fleet77 terminal. Available from stock, the Fleet55 provides mariners high-speed and cost effective voice and data communications based on either MPDS (Mobile Packet Data Service) protocol with constant online access, or on a 64K ISDN connection. The new standard MPDS feature allows the user the ability to be online, all of the time, paying only for the data sent and received rather than paying for the time online. Because of the smaller dimensions of the random antenna, the Capsat® Fleet55 is particularly well-suited for yachts, patrol boats and fishing vessels. With its lightweight and compact transceiver and antenna, the Capsat® Fleet55 is quick and easy to install. The tracking antenna is 27 inches high, and has a diameter of just 22 inches, and weighs only 39 pounds. Plus, the antenna is line-replaceable and can be located up to 230 feet from the transceiver. The basic Capsat® Fleet55 package consists of a transceiver and an antenna together with a handset and cradle. Although it is more compact in size, the Fleet55 still provides the same high quality voice, high-speed Internet access, video conferencing capabilities, and G3 fax connectivity. The system also supports shipboard Intranets and ship to shore networking solutions ideal for large vessels of all types, both military and commercial.
