JRC/Alphatron Marine Unveils New Autopilot System

JRC/Alphatron Marine announced the launch of a new autopilot system engineered to make vessels safer and more efficient.The adaptable AlphaPilot MFS-VR uses speed and draft information and it is suitable for multiple vessel types, including workboats, fast crew tender vessels, fishing boats, tugs, pleasure craft and more. As a successor to the AlphaSeaPilot MFC and MFA system, this new pilot can be used to retrofit and previous models or any other autopilot.The new MFS-VR is a speed adaptive, type approved and wheelmarked autopilot system.

Alphatron Bridge Systems for Four Seabulk Tugs

JRC / Alphatron Marine said it has won a contract to supply four integrated bridge systems for U.S.-based Seabulk Towing Inc.The new vessels, two upgraded ART 90-98US tugs, and two new Rapport 3000 are being built at Master Boat Builders in Coden, Ala.. One of the tugboats is expected to be deliverd in December 2020. The other three tugboats will be delivered in January 2021, June 2021 and July 2021.Two of these newbuilds will be added to the company’s existing Rotortug fleet.

ITB Christens New Tug Island Regent

ITB Christens New Tug Island Raider

Island Raider, the newest articulating tug in Island Tug and Barge’s (ITB) fleet, was christened September 28, during an afternoon ceremony at ITB’s headquarters in Burnaby, B.C.The new vessel is first of two in a series built by on-site at ITB’s Annacis Island facility along the Fraser River. The Island Raider, along with its sister the Island Regent (delivery February, 2019), was designed by renown Robert Allan Limited naval architects and marine engineers of Vancouver, B.C. to be paired with ITB’s double-hulled oil tank barge, the ITB Resolution, as an articulated tug and barge (ATB).

Brom Named CEO at Alphatron Marine

Bart Brom will take over as the next CEO of Alphatron Marine Group in Rotterdam, succeeding the company’s co-founder Luuk Vroombout at the start of 2018. AlphaBridge Consoles Delivered to Egbert Wagenborg

Alphatron Marine has announced to have delivered a state-of-the-art premium design AlphaBridge to the vessel Egbert Wagenborg, a modern, multi-purpose open-top ice strengthened vessel, named after the company’s founder. The ergonomically designed AlphaBridge with four 46-inch wide screens include remote support and an onboard information system. The Egbert Wagenborg navigation system contributes of a new level of onboard safety with JRC’s latest multi-function radar, ECDIS and conning which is operated on four large phenomenally bright displays that can be seen from nearly every angle.

VSTEP, Damen Partner for Bahamas Defence Training

A recent cooperation agreement between Damen and VSTEP has been established for the delivery of a NAUTIS Full Mission Bridge Simulator with Alphatron Marine equipment to the Royal Bahamas Defense Force. The delivery is part of the Sandy Bottom Project, which sees the Defense Force acquire a range of Damen patrol vessels, upgrade its existing fleet and develop its port and base infrastructure. VSTEP, with input from Damen, will develop four simulated vessels for use in its custom simulator.

Alphatron Marine has launched the Alphatron Marine Magazine, an international glossy to communicate and share Alphatron Marine and JRC news, show its latest innovations and deliveries and tell about the group’s locations and services worldwide. the magazine will also give the floor to customers and business partners. AlphaBridge Delivered to the RT Trident

Alphatron Marine has handed over the turnkey AlphaBridge tugboat console solution onboard the RT Trident to Seabulk Towing Inc. located in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. This tug bridge concept has been fully equipped with a JRC/Alphatron Marine navigation and communication package. The bridge is comprised of two ergonomically designed consoles with a central, rotatable, captain’s chair mounted on sliding rails. The layout of the consoles was designed in cooperation with the intended users.

Alphatron Marine Opens Office in Belgium

Alphatron Marine said it has acquired a new office and warehouse space in Zwijndrecht, Belgium to serve customers in Belgium and France. The new location – operational since September and officially opened on November 9, 2016 – replaces the company’s existing Meerdonk office. Alphatron Marine Belgium is part of a group of companies governed by Alphatron Marine. Together, they act as importer, producer, developer and service provider of navigation, communication and automation systems. Besides this, the company provides specialized IT solutions.

Damen Hosts 'Workboat Festival' for Clients and Partners

Damen Shipyards Gorinchem, which is also the headquarters of the Damen Shipyards Group, opened its doors to customers and industry partners alike for the first Damen Workboat Festival. More than 200 guests arrived for the one-day event, taking the opportunity to inspect a wide range of Damen vessels and experience some of them out on the water. The vessels on display included Multi Cats, a wide range of Stan Tugs, high-speed RHIBs, Pilot boats, Fast Crew Suppliers, fast Patrol Boats and pontoons.

Chemgas Shipping Inks Maintenance Deal with Alphatron

Alphatron Marine has signed a premium member contract with Chemgas Shipping covering eight gas carriers.   The Gas Carriers are fitted mainly with bridge equipment which Alphatron Marine has many years of experience of installing and also supporting these and other high tech navigation and communication equipment onboard. The contract also embraces equipment and services that is subjected to mandatory annual certifications and inspections but also life cycle support and a preferred partner service is included.

Almi Tankers Inks Maintenance Deal with Alphatron Marine

JRC and Alphatron Marine has announced that Greek based company Almi Tankers have signed an all-encompassing maintenance contract supporting all yearly inspections and surveys as well as any required services, for a total of 11 vessels. Alphatron Marine, together with local partner in Greece, Nova Electronics, will support the Almi Tankers fleet worldwide, including service, upkeep, and preventive maintenance services to secure the overall smooth running of bridge equipment.

Damen Orders AlphaBridge for Its First SOV

Alphatron Marine has signed a contract with the Damen Shipyards Group for the delivery of the AlphaBridge including an IT and entertainment package for the first Service Operations Vessel (SOV), providing comfort and safety to the offshore and wind industry.
