Skandi Emerald AHTS Set for Petrofac’s Northern Endeavour FPSO Job

Akastor's subsidiary DDW Offshore has secured a contract extension with Petrofac for its AHTS vessel that will be put on the Northern Endeavour FPSO disconnection job offshore Australia.The contract extension follows the original one-year contract Petrofac signed with DDW Offshore for the AHTS vessel Skandi Atlantic back in September 2022.Petrofac has now awarded DDW Offshore a 9-month extension of the existing contract in Australia whereby Skandi Emerald will replace Skandi Atlantic in March 2024.The contract will last until year-end 2024, DDW Offshore informed.Skandi Emerald will continue to

OceanPact Buys Two AHTS Vessels from Akastor's DDW Offshore

In the 45 years since the Arab Shipbuilding & Repair Yard (ASRY) opened on reclaimed land in Bahrain, the Middle East has become one of the world’s ship repair hotspots. A broad range of shipyards now service both regional and global markets.Regional yards have a ready market, with hundreds of offshore rigs working across the region together with the service ships that support them. Then there are thousands of tankers and gas carriers that arrive each year to load energy cargoes for far-flung destinations.

Petrofac Hires AHTS to Assist with Northern Endeavour FPSO Disconnection

Akastor's subsidiary DDW Offshore has won a one-year contract with Petrofac for the AHTS vessel Skandi Atlantic. The AHTS will support the disconnection of the FPSO "Northern Endeavour" together with towing and well isolations work in the Laminaria Corallina oil fields in the West Timor Sea. Brazil's OceanPact to Charter and, Eventually, Buy Two DDW Offshore AHTS Vessels

Norwegian offshore vessel owner DDW Offshore, a subsidiary of Akastor, has entered into bareboat charter and future sale agreements for two of its AHTS vessels with the Brazilian subsea services company OceanPact.Under the charter, DDW Offshore - formerly known as DOF Deepwater,  will supply two AHTS vessels Skandi Saigon and Skandi Pacific for a period of 26 months. As part of the agreements, Akarstor said that a forward sale of the vessels has also been agreed. Under this deal, OceanPact will buy the vessels at the end of the charter period.

Johan Castberg FPSO Turret Mooring System Complete

Dutch company SBM Offshore has announced the sailaway of the last two modules for the Turret Mooring System built for Equinor's Johan Castberg FPSO which will, once completed, be deployed in the Barents Sea, offshore Norway.The modules will be shipped to Singapore aboard a heavy-transportation vessel. Faster Propeller Repairs in the Middle East

Aiming to provide faster repair service in the Middle East to ship operators whose vessels have sustained propeller damage, Stone Marine Shipcare has signed a Service Agency Agreement with Dubai Drydock World which sees one of the companies’ mobile workshops permanently based there. The workshop will be used, not just at Drydock Worlds’ own facilities, but can be quickly transported to other Middle Eastern shipyards, wherever a ship is in need of repair or maintenance to its propeller.

First LNG Fuelled Tug for Middle East by Wärtsilä

Drydocks World (DDW) based in Dubai, UAE, has contracted Wärtsilä to design and supply the propulsion and other equipment for a new harbour tug that will operate on liquefied natural gas (LNG). This will be the first harbour tug in the Middle East region to operate on gas. The order was signed in November. The 29-meter-long tug is the first of a series of nine such vessels to be built and operated by DDW. The project is part of a green initiative launched by the Dubai government, and is intended to set an example for promoting environmental sustainability throughout the region. "We are happy to work with Wärtsilä to promote a green image for our harbour work. Wärtsilä is a solution provider with vast experience and expertise in gas fuel systems.

Drydocks World & DMC to build 1st LNG-powered tug

Drydocks World and Dubai Maritime City (DMC), the leading provider of services to the shipping, maritime, oil, gas & energy sector is supporting the "Green Economy for Sustainable Development" initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Drydocks World Win Europe's 2014 Socrates Award

Drydocks World (DDW) informs it has been recognized with the “Best International Enterprise” award at the 2014 Socrates Awards. In addition His Excellency Khamis Juma Buamim, Chairman of Drydocks World & Maritime World was named “Best Manager of the Year” at the same award ceremony organized and presented by the International Socrates Committee of the Europe Business Assembly. Drydocks World to Build Mega Jack-up Rig for the North Sea

Drydocks World, international service provider to the maritime, oil and gas and energy sectors, signed an Agreement with Drill One Capital for building the “Dubai Expo 2020 NS” mega jack-up rig. Khamis Juma Buamim, Chairman of Drydocks World & Maritime World, the international service provider to the maritime and oil and gas sectors, visited Jadaf shipyard, one of the oldest such yards in the region addressing the repair and maintenance of small to midsize vessels. Drydocks World Enters Into Shareholders Agreement

Drydocks World LLC (DDW LLC) & Pacific Carriers Limited (PCL) a fully owned subsidiary of the Kuok (Singapore) Limited Group has announced that they have entered into a Shareholders Agreement in respect of the Drydocks World-Southeast Asia Pte. Limited (DDW SEA) Group. Under this agreement which was signed on September 26th 2012, PCL acquired & subscribed to 67% of the shareholding of DDW SEA. DDW SEA had recently completed a debt restructuring scheme in Singapore resulting in DDW SEA being a debt free company. DDW SEA will be renamed as DDW-PaxOcean Asia Pte Ltd (DDW-PaxOcean).
