Keel Laying for Ohana Class Containerships

FAT Testing Complete for M/V George III Main Engines

Pasha Hawaii reports that factory acceptance testing (FAT) of the dual-fueled, MAN Diesel & Turbo ME-GI main engine has been completed for the M/V George III, the first of two 774-ft., U.S. Jones Act, LNG-fueled containerships being built at Keppel AmFELS in Brownsville, TX. MAN to Deliver Propulsion for Pasha’s LNG Containerships

MAN Energy Solutions said it has won an order to provide the propulsion systems for two new liquefied natural gas (LNG) fueled containership newbuildings, which will join the fleet of Pasha Hawaii, the U.S. Jones Act carrier in the Hawaii trade lane.Each system will comprise a 7S80ME-GI Mk 9.5 main engine, three MAN 6L35/44DF GenSets and an MAN Alpha FPP propeller system. Keppel AmFELS to Build Two LNG Fueled Containerships

Keppel AmFELS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M) in the United States (US), has secured a contract worth more than US$400m from Honolulu-based Pasha Hawaii for the construction of two Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) fueled containerships. The dual fuel LNG vessels will be built to Keppel's proprietary design with delivery of the first vessel expected in 1Q 2020, and the second vessel in 3Q 2020. De C.V., a subsidiary of Mexico's Perforadora Central S.V. De C.V. (Perforadora Central) on time, within budget and with zero loss time incidents. The rig was christened today at Keppel AmFELS’ yard in Brownsville, Texas by Lady Sponsor, Monica Funtanet de Alvarez-Morphy, the wife of Javier Alvarez Morphy Camou Sr, Director of Perforadora Central.

Keppel AmFELS Secures Mexican Jackup Order

Keppel AmFELS LLC, a US-based wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), has won a contract from Central Panuco S.A. De C.V., a subsidiary of Mexico's Perforadora Central S.V. De C.V. (Perforadora Central) to build a KFELS B Class jackup rig worth $240 million, including owner furnished equipment. Scheduled for delivery in 4Q 2015, the jackup rig is intended for operations in offshore Mexico. Built to Keppel's market-established KFELS B Class design, the rig will be able to operate in water depths of up to 400 feet, drill to depths of 30,000 feet with accommodation for 126 persons and a BOP system of 18-3/4 x 15,000 PSI. With this latest contract, a total of 13 KFELS B Class jackup rigs have been ordered for the Mexican market since 2010.

Keppel FELS Delivers Another Premium Rig

Keppel FELS has delivered a KFELS B Class jackup rig, to Constructora y Perforadora Latina (CP LATINA), a private Mexican company in the energy sector. The rig was named La Santa Mariaat a ceremony in Keppel FELS. Delivered on time and with a perfect safety record, it will be chartered to Pemex, Mexico's national oil company, for deployment in offshore Mexico. La Santa Maria  is the first of two high-specification jackup rigs that Keppel FELS is building for CP Latina. The second rig is on schedule to be delivered in 4Q 2013. Keppel FELS Delivers Second Jackup Rig to Oro Negro

Keppel FELS delivered a second KFELS B Class jackup rig to offshore Mexican oil field services company, Integradora de Servicios Petroleros Oro Negro. Named Laurus at Keppel FELS today, the rig was delivered eleven days early and with a perfect safety record, Keppel noted. Laurus is the second of two high-specification jackup rigs that Keppel FELS has built for Oro Negro which will be chartered to PEMEX, Mexico's national oil company, for deployment in offshore Mexico. The first rig, Primus, was delivered in December last year. Papaloapan is the the third jackup rig built by Keppel AmFELS for Perforadora Central and is based on the LeTourneau Super 116E design.

Keppel Expands Foothold in Mexican Offshore Market

Keppel FELS, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), has won a contract from PEMEX Exploracion y Produccion, a subsidiary of Mexico's national oil company, Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX), to build two KFELS B Class jackup rigs worth US$420 million. Scheduled for delivery in 1Q 2015, the high specification rigs will be the 19th and 20th KFELS B Class rigs on order at Keppel, with 36 already delivered in the past decade. When completed, the two rigs will join a number of KFELS B Class jackup rigs built by Keppel for Mexican customers. This includes the Primus jackup rig recently delivered to Oro Negro as well as the Tonala rig operated by Peforadora Central.

Keppel AmFELS Contracts with Diamond Offshore

Keppel AmFELS to Construct and Upgrade Deepwater Semisubmersible for Diamond Offshore for US$150 million. Keppel AmFELS LLC, a US wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), has secured a contract from Diamond Offshore to construct and upgrade a moored semisubmersible rig with delivery scheduled for 3Q 2013. Keppel AmFELS Delivers Second Rowan Rig

Keppel AmFELS L.L.C., the U.S. wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited (Keppel O&M), is on track to deliver the second of four EXL rigs to Rowan Drilling Companies, Inc. (Rowan) on time, within budget and with zero lost-time incidents. The rig, christened Rowan EXL-II last Friday, is scheduled for delivery on 31 August and will depart the Keppel AmFELS yard within the next month. It is expected to be deployed to Trinidad for three years under contract with BP Trinidad and Tobago. Construction for the Rowan EXL-II began in April 2008. Built as an enhancement of the LeTourneau Super 116E design with leg lengths of 511ft.

Keppel To Build New Jackup Worth US$195 Million For Mexico

Keppel AmFELS LLC, a US wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), has won a contract from Mexico's Perforadora Central SA de CV (Perforadora Central) to build a repeat jackup rig valued at about US$195 million. Slated for delivery in 1Q 2013, this latest high specification unit will be based on the LeTourneau Super 116E design. Unlike the existing LeTourneau Super 116Es, this will be the first Super 116E newbuild to be further enhanced to provide for an additional 1,500 kips of elevated load. It will have leg lengths of 511 ft and the capability to drill wells up to 30,000 ft at a water depth of 375 ft. Mexico is the world's sixth largest producer of oil and has the seventh largest natural gas reserve in the western hemisphere.

Japan Drilling Company awards $210m jackup contract to Keppel

Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS) has secured a contract worth about $210 million from Japan Drilling Company (JDC) to build a KFELS Super B Class jackup rig. Slated for delivery in the first quarter of 2013, the rig will be JDC's first newbuild rig order in six years and Keppel FELS' first for JDC. Keppel AmFELS Delivers Rowan Rig Ahead of Schedule

Keppel AmFELS LLC, a wholly owned US subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), has completed the delivery of its fourth EXL jack-up rig to a subsidiary of Rowan Companies, Inc. (Rowan) (NYSE: RDC) with a perfect safety record, four months ahead of schedule and within budget. The jack-up rig was christened Rowan EXL-IV yesterday by Ms. Mary J. Dunaway and Ms. Audra M. Williamson, daughters of Mr. Johnnie Huckabay, one of Rowan's senior rig managers. The rig was delivered on September 1, 2011 and is scheduled to depart Keppel AmFELS' yard in Brownsville, Texas in October 2011. Mr Matt Ralls, President and CEO of Rowan, said, "This latest EXL jack-up rig is a key addition to our fleet of high-specification rigs and will enable us to further grow our offshore drilling business.

Keppel Delivers First Rowan Rig

Keppel AmFELS Inc., the US wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited (Keppel O&M), has delivered the first of four EXL rigs to Rowan Drilling Company, Inc. (Rowan) safely, on time and within budget. The rig, christened Rowan EXL I at the yard last Saturday, is expected to be deployed for work immediately after delivery to serve a 10-month contract with McMoRan Exploration Company in the US Gulf of Mexico. Keppel AmFELS is currently constructing three other similar newbuild jackup rigs for Rowan.
