NME Appoints New Managing Director
The Association of Norwegian Maritime Exporters (NME) announced the appointment of a new managing director, Ole Henæs, who began in the position 3 August. Henæs takes over the leadership of the member-based organisation from Halvard Olafsen, who has led NME for over a decade and who now moves into a new role as Chief Project Officer. Henæs was selected as NME’s new managing director by the NME board after a rigorous selection process reviewed a number of highly qualified applicants. Henæs’ prior experience on the board of NME and with NME member companies Rapp Marine and Kongsberg Maritime, and his strength as a manager and organiser with a technical background, were cited as reasons for his selection.
New Managing Director at Kelvin Hughes
Kelvin Hughes has appointed Ron Nailer as the new managing director of Kelvin Hughes Ltd., succeeding Dr. Martin Jones, who has returned to the parent company - Smiths Group Plc head office - to pursue his responsibilities as director of Technology and Innovation of Smiths' Industrial Group. Nailer leaves his current post as divisional managing director for the Dowty aviation support and electronics distribution companies, which Smiths acquired via its merger with TI last year.
New Managing Director At Schottel
Dr. Detlef Reinsberg was elected the new managing director of Schottel GmbH & Co. in Spay/Rhine, Germany. Reinsberg, who began his career as a financial director with ABB in Manheim, and later with the Fresenius Group in Bad Homburg, will spearhead a group of companies whose main plant reached sales of $61.3 million in 1999.
Oceanwide Appoints New Management
Oceanwide announced a new management structure for Oceanwide Netherlands, Oceanwide Baltics and Oceanwide Offshore Services. The new structure is effective immediately. Oceanwide Netherlands has appointed Jan Hessel Dijkstra as its new Managing Director. Jan Hessel has been with Oceanwide for five years in the position of branch manager and sales manager and has solid experience within the employment sector. He is assisted by Sales Manager Adje Burgers and five dedicated account managers. Oceanwide Netherlands has offices in Vlissingen, Hoogvliet and Harlingen, the Netherlands. Oceanwide Baltics’ new Managing Director is Galina Raspopova. Galina has long background in shipping and has been working for Ventspils Port Authorities and Riga Shipping.
New Managing Director at Farstad
The Board of Farstad Shipping ASA has appointed Karl-Johan Bakken as new managing director in Farstad Shipping ASA.He will succeed Terje J.K. Andersen who will retire in May 06. Karl-Johan Bakken will, however, take up his new position from January 1, 2006. Karl-Johan Bakken, born in 1958, holds a M.Sc. in Naval Architecture from the Norwegian Institute of Technology in Trondheim (1984). He joined Farstad Shipping ASA with a 15 years experience from Ulstein/Rolls-Royce. He entered the position as COO in 1999.
Fratelli Cosulich Names Spiess Zurich Managing Director
Fratelli Cosulich has appointed a new managing director to take forward its Zurich-based cruise and ferry travel agency business, Cosulich Ltd. Stefan Spiess takes over as managing director from Detlev Bandi, who retires after 26 years with the travel agency. After receiving his diploma in economics in Baden and studying law in Fribourg, Spiess began work in tourism fifteen years ago. He has experience in the fields of tour operating, destination marketing, tourism writing and sales of tourism goods.
JHD Names New Managing Director
Jakob Hatteland Display (JHD) has named Tomm-Erik Johannessen, as managing director of its daughter company, Hatteland Technology. Johannessen, an IT professional with 15 years in the Royal Norwegian Air Force and managerial positions at high-profile Norwegian firms, including Scanmar AS, joined Hatteland Technology on 15th September 2006. As head of Hatteland Technology, Johannessen's responsibilities are focussed on expanding R&D for JHD's marine displays and computers.
Jacobsen Joins Green Reefers ASA
Trym Jacobsen has joined Green Reefers ASA as the company's new managing director, replacing Erik Thulin. Jacobsen has been employed with Green Reefers ASA since 1991 and is currently holding the position as CFO.
Sorensen MCP Managing Director, Americas
Maritime Communications Partner (MCP), wireless communications provider to the cruise industry, announced that it has appointed Fred Sorensen as its new Managing Director for the Americas. He succeeds Steinar Stromsvag who has been in charge of MCP’s Miami office since 2005. Sorensen brings more than 18 years of sales and marketing experience to the role having previously worked as Vice President of Sales and Supply Chain Management at Wilhelmsen Marine Engineering’s Callenberg division and Senior Technical Buyer with Disney Cruise Line. Hide Joins the Ulstein Group
Gunnar H. Hide has been appointed as the new managing director of Ulstein Power & Control. Hide has a background from the maritime industry and has among others, worked as a manager in Acel, ABB, Stadt Automation, and IKM Group. Hide said that had his first job with Ulstein in 1980, at Ulstein Smevik in Herøy, where he was for three years and took his mechanical certificate. Hide is a graduate mechanical engineer from Horten Engineering School.
Savisaari New MD of ATLAS ELEKTRONIK Finland
Jaakko Savisaari (56) was appointed new Managing Director of ATLAS ELEKTRONIK Finland Oy, a subsidiary of ATLAS ELEKTRONIK, a leading supplier of naval electronics. In previous positions, Savisaari has been an officer in the Finnish Navy, most recently as a military attaché in the USA. He succeeds Sami Sohlberg, who has joined CASSIDIAN in Finland.

Eva Kristensen will take the helm as the new managing director at Ulstein Design and Solutions AS starting in January 2016. Cole Quits Beach Energy
Beach Energy Ltd announced today that Robert Cole resigned as Managing Director of the company. Mr Cole will remain with Beach until 14 October 2015 to allow for an orderly transition. As announced on 19 August 2015 Mr Cole has been on leave to attend to family matters in Perth. with Beach in Adelaide. He has accordingly resigned. In the circumstances the Board has waived what would otherwise have been notice requirements under Mr Cole’s employment agreement. The company will commence the process of replacing Mr Cole.

ShipNet named Tormod Haavi as its new Managing Director, succeeding Sven Erik Dølvik. Haavi will assume his new role from July 1, 2006. Haavi was ShipNet’s Commercial Director until the end of 2000. During the years since he left ShipNet, Haavi has worked as an independent management consultant.
