Ørsted Terminates Offshore Wind Installation Vessel Deal with Cadeler

Danish offshore wind installation firm Cadeler has received a notice of termination for its wind turbine installation vessel (WTIV) from Ørsted which was booked for work for the now discontinued 2.4 GW Hornsea 4 offshore wind farm in United Kingdom.The long-term agreement for an A Class WTIV was first announce in April 8, 2024, under which Ørsted secured the vessel capacity from the first quarter of 2027 through the end of 2030.The vessel was supposed to be deployed at Ørsted’s Hornsea 4 offshore wind farm…

Danos Nets Production Services Contract for Beacon Offshore's Shenandoah FPS

Danos Operations Services has been awarded a contract to provide production services for Beacon Offshore Energy’s new deepwater facility, the Shenandoah floating production system (FPS). The project will employ production operators, instrumentation and electrical technicians, mechanics, and offshore installation managers. Several employees began work on the platform in 2024.The Shenandoah facility is in the final stages of hook-up and is expected to begin producing oil later this summer.

Aker BP Installs New Jacket at Valhall Field in Southern North Sea (Video)

Norwegian oil and gas company Aker BP has completed the installation of a jacket for a new production platform at the Valhall field in the Southern North Sea.The Valhall production and wellhead platform (PWP) jacket has been installed with the support from Allseas' Pioneering Spirit and Heerema Marine Contractors' Sleipnir, two of the world’s largest offshore vessels, Aker BP informed on social media.The installation followed the removal of an old production and compression platform (PCP).“This marks the end of an era and the beginning of 40 more years of production at Valhall.

All Inter-Array Cables Installed at 488 MW French Offshore Wind Farm

Bordelon Marine Renews Charter Deal with Oceaneering

Lockport, La. based Bordelon Marine announced it has renewed the charter agreement with Oceaneering International for the Brandon Bordelon; 260-foot-long DP2 Jones Act compliant ultra-light intervention vessel for an additional two-year firm term plus one-year additional option. The charter agreement renewal commenced in March 2024.The 2015-built vessel is mobilized with two Oceaneering Millennium Plus work class remotely operated vehicles (ROV) and Oceaneering survey equipment and technology.

Petrobras Extends Helix Well Intervention Vessel

Helix Energy Solutions Group, Inc. announced on Monday that it entered into a two-year extension of its well intervention charter and services contracts with Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras) for the Siem Helix 2 well intervention vessel offshore Brazil. The negotiated extension is scheduled to conclude in December 2024 and directly follows Helix’s current contracts with Petrobras.The Siem Helix 2 is a purpose-built, advanced well intervention vessel capable of performing a wide range of subsea services including production enhancement, well decommissioning, subsea installation, offshore crane and remotely operated vehicle (ROV) operations, offshore construction and emergency response.
