August 3, 2012

Survey Equipment Services (SES), part owned by Hydroquip, has added Sonardyne 6G equipment to its rental pool in Katy, Texas.

6G products utilise Sonardyne’s ultra-wideband width, digital ranging and telemetry protocols developed to increase the precision, speed and reliability of acoustic positioning and aided inertial navigation operations.

The platform has been proven to deliver significant operational savings, allowing multi-user subsea construction survey tasks to be completed in less time than was previously possible.

With 30 years’ experience working with the oil and gas industry, SES specialises in the supply of marine navigation and hydrographic survey equipment. Gary Sayers, Engineering Manager at SES said, “This is our first investment in 6G although we have previously bought Sonardyne products for our equipment pool. This purchase is in recognition of the growing demand for 6G within the Gulf of Mexico and it will reinforce our position as a leading supplier of subsea positioning technology.

Commenting on the sale, Kim Swords, Account Manager at Sonardyne in Houston said, “We’re delighted that Hydroquip has taken the next step in subsea acoustic positioning by adopting 6G. The company has been a supplier of Sonardyne products for many years and this order reflects the excellent performance, cost savings and versatility that 6G offers.”
