Vroon chooses Pronomar as partner for outfitting VOS Sweet with MERUS technology

Vroon Offshore Services chose Pronomar to equip the Netherlands-flagged VOS Sweet with multiple MERUS rings.

Pronomar said it had already outfitted Vroon’s VOS Sympathy, so when the VOS Sweet experienced problems with lime scale (in the piping, the boiler and the pumps), Vroon contacted Pronomar again for its MERUS technology.

Pronomar then installed the following MERUS rings on the VOS Sweet: 2 1/2” IND BIO ring for the hydrophore, 2” IND ring on the feedpipe of the hydrophore and the pumps, 1 1/2” IND ring on the feedpipe of the boiler and 1 1/2” IND BIO ring on the circulation line

According to Pronomar, when vessels such as the VOS Sweet experience problems with lime scale, it is a good idea to apply the MERUS technology. The MERUS technology consists of a ring that is placed around the water pipe and emits small oscillations to the water. As a result, the growth of deposits, such as rust, scale, bacteria etc. are disturbed and the pipes and appliances remain longer clean. In addition, older deposits degrade over time leaving the pipes even cleaner than before the MERUS ring was installed.

Suitable for both fresh and salt water, the MERUS ring is an environment-friendly alternative to expensive maintenance service. It increases the lifespan of not only the water pipes but all water related machines and devices such as boilers and pumps.
