Norwegian-owned shipbuilding group Kleven has signed a contract with the French fishery company Compagnie Des Peches Saint-Malo S.A. & SAS Comptoir Des Peches D’Europe Du Nord – Euronor, for the construction of an 80-meter-long stern trawler.

The vessel is to be delivered from Myklebust Verft in September 2017, and is of NVC 374 WP design from Rolls-Royce. Two vessels of the same design were ordered by DFFU in June this year.

Kleven CEO Ståle Rasmussen  said safety, low emissions and operational efficiency are key to the new vessel. The stern trawler will be ICE 1A* classed, and will also include a large equipment package from Rolls-Royce.

The CEO added that Kleven has signed five new build contracts for Myklebust Verft since June, many of which include Rolls-Royce as a key partner. Kleven’s order book now includes 17 vessels worth a total value close to NOK 11 billion.
