Upon completion of tests and engine trials the 93,500 gt cruise ship Norwegian Gem will leave the covered building dock of Meyer Werft on Sunday, August 12. Undocking of the ship, which is built for the American cruise operator Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL).
With the ship being berthed at the outfitting pier, outstanding work will be completed on board. The Ems passage of the newbuilding to the sea trials port in Eemshaven/Netherlands is planned for mid of September 2007. A detailed schedule will be published within short. The new luxury liner has a length overall of 294.13 m, is 32.2 m wide and reaches a speed of more than 24 knots. More than 2,400 passengers can be accommodated in 1,197 cabins and are taken care of by a crew of about 1,100.
