Simrad has been chosen by Scand Boats in Norway, for the supply of its new CP31 chartplotter as standard fit on all newbuilds for 2005 and 2006. This amounts to a total of at least 240 boats for the period.

"Simrad's ability to adopt to our particular needs as a boatbuilder combined with the added value that the equipment will bring to our boats were key factors in choosing the CP31 as standard for the next two years," says Tor Egil Baardsen, owner and manager of Scand Boats.

Scand Boats, based in Fevik in the South East of Norway close to Kristiansand, is one of the oldest and most famous manufacturers of high quality motorboats in Norway. The company builds several models from sports to cruisers and dayboats, all of which will benefit from the compact but powerful navigation provided by the CP31.

"The contract illustrates Simrad`s position as a definite market leader in the home market, which is a position we will develop even further," says Alf Oddvar Teige, Simrad`s Key Account Manger of OEM`s in Norway.
