Russia's Latest Nuclear Submarine on Sea Trials
The Russia strategic nuclear-powered submarine 'Vladimir Monomakh' has left the Sevmash shipyard to start sea trials in the White Sea, reports the Barents Observer.
Vladimir Monomakh is the third of a total of eight Borey-class nuclear-powered missile submarines that Russia plans to build by 2020.
The submarine is 170 meters long, has a speed of 29 knots submerged, a crew of 107 and will be equipped with 16 Bulava missiles, which each can carry ten nuclear warheads.
