Veson Debuts IMOS Trading Module

Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

March 19, 2007

Veson Nautical, which delivers chartering, operations and accounting solutions for cargo transportation, introduced IMOS Trading, a complete system module for handling Forward Freight Agreements (FFAs), Options and Freight Exposure. Veson’s newest module, IMOS Trading, provides the full range of capabilities for managing the FFA process, including a number of features and benefits that:

- Provides a complete view of physical and paper freight position

- Manages wet or dry FFAs as well as options

- Simplifies the tracking of paper trades

- Automatically downloads market information from the Baltic Exchange, Imarex and other data sources

- Generates an interactive report view of overall open position

- Consolidates long/short position with mark-to-market capabilities

- Tracks credit levels and monitors exposure to Counterparties

“Commercial maritime organizations need to implement strong risk management processes to protect their business from volatile markets. Many have outgrown the Excel spreadsheet method and in fact, need a much more sophisticated, automated system,” said John D. Veson, President of Veson Nautical. “After listening to the needs of our customers, we developed IMOS Trading. Our solution provides access to powerful analytical tools that promote intelligent business decisions. This enables organizations to better use freight derivatives as hedging tools, trading for profit or both.”

The IMOS Trading module integrates seamlessly with Veson’s premier IMOS Chartering, Operations and Financials modules; it can also be purchased as a stand-alone offering. Integrating the system allows clients to view their outstanding cargo commitments, Time-Charter-In obligations and trading activities in a unified profit and loss report. This provides management with access to a “big picture view” for accurate comprehension of their overall long/short positions.
