Protecting navigation data from digital attacks is vital in the military marine segment when conducting navy operations. To provide navy vessels with secure and reliable navigation data, Danish supplier of nautical charts Weilbach has developed their digital solutions to offer a complete service.

“When navigation software integrations come from different suppliers, the risk of hacking, cyber-attacks and errors can increase. We can ensure navy vessels are able to get up-to-date and reliable data necessary to plan operations from only one supplier, to reduce the risk” says Martin Mikkelsen, Director of Business Development at Weilbach.

Customized navigation data
The navigation software from Weilbach gathers information critical for vessels, for example, route details, weather conditions, tides, etc., and displays it on a single user-friendly platform. It makes crucial navigational information available, when it is needed, to help those on board make the best possible decisions.

“The more accurate the information is when planning and conducting operations, and the quicker it is available, the better the situational awareness and efficiency on board,” explains Martin Mikkelsen.

“By combining our marine data management software with our industry know how and 24/7 customer support, navy operators can have customized navigation data available that meet their requirements,” he elaborates.

From sails to programming
Another benefit is that Weilbach can act quickly whenever there is a change in the operational requirements of the vessel, as everything is managed by Weilbach.

Weilbach is exhibiting at Euronaval on October 23-26, 2018 in Paris, France.
