December 21, 2012

IFS contracted by engineering & well service company Odfjell Drilling to supply business processes solutions.

The contract includes licenses and the first phase of the implementation project.

Odfjell Drilling Group is an international drilling contractor providing mobile offshore drilling units for harsh environment and ultra deepwater drilling
operations, platform drilling, engineering and well services. The company currently operates five modern drilling units in Norway, Tanzania, Angola and
Brazil and performs drilling services on 20 production installations in the North Sea.

The IFS solution includes support for project management, financials, supply chain management, and human resources. The solution is also equipped with full support for the complex legal requirements that regulate the Brazilian market, as well as IFS Instant Replication, enabling rapid data replication between offshore rigs and onshore facilities.

The global nature of its onshore and offshore operations meant that the company needed a full-suite industry solution to support its international growth and contribute to business excellence. After a thorough evaluation process, Odfjell Drilling chose IFS Applications for Offshore Service.

“Our expectations of IFS Applications are high. We expect it to support our work to improve data quality for improved decision making, to improve business processes and increase predictability in our drilling and engineering services,” said Odfjell Drilling CEO Simen Lieungh.
