INTERSCHALT maritime systems AG, the provider of maritime software, services and systems for navigation and communications systems (NavCom) and manufacturer of Voyage Data Recorder (VDR) systems, announced that its new generation VDR G4[e] has been type approved by the China Classification Society (CCS), effective July 1, 2015.
By granting the type approval, CCS certifies that the VDR G4[e] complies with the international regulations and performance standards of IMO Resolution MSC.333(90). The VDR G4[e] has also been approved by the German federal authority BSH.
"Certification by the CCS has smoothed the way towards equipping a range of special ships, which sail under Chinese flag, with the VDR G4[e]," noted Robert Gärtner, CEO of INTERSCHALT, with regard to the approval. "Chinese ship managers can now benefit from using the VDR G4[e] and utilizing our worldwide service network."
The VDR G4[e] is a technically advanced version of the VDR G4 predecessor model, which is installed on more than 1,000 ships. Ship owners and managers benefit from technical innovations such as the real-time monitor and corridor tracking, the manufacturer said.
