News: VT Halter Delivers First-of-Series OSV for Seacor

VT Halter Marine Inc. delivered its first vessel in 2004, the Seacor Pride. The 220- x 46- x 17-ft. Offshore Supply Vessel (OSV) is classed DPS-1 and can carry 5,100 barrels of liquid mud, 6,740 cu. ft. of dry bulk along with fuel oil and fresh water. Constructed at VT Halter Marine's HMP (Halter Moss Point) Operations, Seacor Pride is a high capacity supply vessel with a pair of Caterpillar 3516 main engines and a Caterpillar 3508 driving a 1,000 hp bowthruster.

Two additional Caterpillar engines drive liquid mud pumps on one end and the compressor that powers the bulk mud system on the other end. OSVs carry goods, supplies, individuals (in addition to the crew) or equipment used to support exploration and offshore production of mineral or energy sources. The OSV is U.S. flagged, ABS classed and complies with SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) requirements for international service.
