Port of Amsterdam CEO Appointed Energy Commissioner

Port of Amsterdam CEO Koen Overtoom and ten other Amsterdam residents have been named Energy Commissioners by Platform 02025, a non-profit that aims to make Amsterdam a leader in clean energy.Amsterdam port said in a press release that the appointment was co-initiated by the National Energy Committee, which is headed by the National Energy Commissioner, Ruud Koornstra.Platform 02025 seeks to motivate and inspire Amsterdam residents to transition to clean, safe and natural energy by 2025.

India Publishes Draft Wind Turbine Certification

India's Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has issued a draft scheme on wind turbines in India. Ørsted Concludes Deepwater Wind Acquisition

Danish wind energy giant Orsted completed its previously announced takeover of Deepwater Wind from D.E. Shaw group in a deal valued at $510 million.The company closed the transaction of acquiring 100% of equity stake held by D.E. Shaw group in Deepwater Wind, which was announced in October this year, after securing approval from the US competition authorities.The new combined organization—Ørsted US Offshore Wind—will be able to deliver clean energy to every coastal state in the densely-populated east coast corridor between Massachusetts and Virginia.

Exxon, Petrobras Form Alliance to Develop Oil, Gas Projects

Exxon Mobil Corp and Petróleo Brasileiro SA, Brazil's state-controlled oil producer also known as Petrobras, said on Thursday they had formed an alliance to develop energy projects around the world.   The deal, which was signed in Rio de Janeiro, will have the companies study ways they can cooperate on exploration, production and chemical ventures inside and outside of Brazil.   The deal comes two months after Exxon and Petrobras were jointly awarded six oil-rich blocks in Brazilian coastal waters.
