Evac Group appointed Björn Ullbro CEO effective July 1, 2023, taking over alongside his current role as the President of Evac Business Line. With more than a decade of experience in the maritime industry, Ullbro has brought a wealth of knowledge to Evac Group after joining the company in late 2021. Ullbro holds a master’s degree in accounting and finance from Hanken School of Economics and has, before joining Evac, held several key leadership positions at Wärtsilä Corporation.

Reverse Osmosis and the New Dawn of Marine Desalination

Today’s desalination plants are rugged, durable and highly automated to meet the demands of operators and the crew, enabling them to meet schedule and mission with ample potable water production.In the days of old, marine distilling plants – then mostly steam – relied on archaic flash evaporators, which used steam to heat, power an air ejector, and ultimately create a vacuum whereby seawater would flash or boil and ultimately be distilled. The process would often occur over two stages and what did not flash would be pumped overboard as brine. Times have changed.

Cathelco to Prevent Marine Growth on KOC's Oil Spill Response Vessel

Evac to Install BWMS on E-Marine Cable Layer

Evac BWMS Chosen for Irish Lights vessel

The Evac Evolution ballast water treatment system (BWMS) will be installed on the ILV Granuaile, an aids to navigation vessel operated by the Commissioners of Irish Lights.The vessel’s primary function is to place and service 150 offshore buoys, which warn mariners of the location of sand banks, reefs and other offshore hazards. The vessel also provides support for the teams tasked with maintaining a further 65 lighthouses and beacons around the coast of Ireland and Northern Ireland. In addition, the ship supports the national response to maritime wreck and new dangers to navigation.

Two Harvey Gulf Vessels Equipped with BWMS

Two platform supply vessels operated by US-based Harvey Gulf International are due to be equipped with Evac Evolution ballast water management systems (BWMS).The Harvey Spirit and Harvey Supplier (85.4 meters overall) will each be fitted with systems with the capacity to treat ballast water at the rate of 250 cubic meters per hour (m3/hr).“We have seen a steady rise in orders and enquiries since achieving U.S. Coast Guard Type Approval last year and there is every sign that this will continue as more operators approach their compliance deadlines

Evac Evolution BWMS Gets USCG Nod

Quark to Implement Evac Solution

Genting Deal Largest in Evac History

Evac said it will supply Complete Cleantech Solutions for two Global class cruise ships for Genting Hong Kong’s Star Lines. The two 201,000-gross-ton vessels will be built by the German shipyard MV Werften for deliveries in 2020 and 2021. Evac Systems Ordered for ‘Global Class’ Cruise Ships

German shipyard MV WERFTEN, a wholly owned subsidiary of Genting Hong Kong, said it will install the Evac Complete Cleantech Solution on board two new Global Class ships for Asia-Pacific cruise line Star Cruises. The contract also covers two optional cruise vessels of the same class in the future. Star Cruises’ Global Class vessels are specifically designed for the growing Asian market. Delivery of the two 201,000 GT vessels is scheduled for 2020 and 2021. At over 340 meters long, the new vessels will be the largest ever built at the shipyards of MV WERFTEN.

Waste, wastewater and water management systems provider Evac has appointed Tomas Michelsson as the President, Offshore and Merchant business area, effective January 8, 2018.   Michelsson will replace the former President, Claes Rudling, who has retired during the summer.    Michelsson previously worked as the Vessel Type Responsible (VTR) Global Sales Manager, Ro-Pax and Yachts, ABB Marine, and as the Director, Marine and Offshore business unit, Marioff.

Evac Acquires Uson Marine
