GTT Scoops Order for 8 Very Large LNG Carrier Tank Designs

French engineering company GTT has received an order from a Chinese shipyard for the tank design of eight new very large liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers.GTT will design the tanks for the eight LNG carriers, which will each offer five tanks with a total capacity of 271,000 m3.The tanks will be fitted with the NO96 Super+ membrane containment system developed by GTT.Delivery is scheduled between the second quarter of 2028 and the fourth quarter of 2029.No further details have been disclosed by the company at the time of the announcement.

CoolCo to Sell Golar Seal LNG Carrier for $184.M

Cool Company Ltd. (CoolCo) has agreed to sell the Golar Seal vessel for $184.3 million. The transaction is expected to close on the redelivery of the vessel from its current charter in late March.The unnamed buyer will assume all costs associated with the vessel’s forthcoming dry-dock, increasing the effective economic value to CoolCo to approximately $190 million.Richard Tyrrell, CEO, said: "Through the sale of the Golar Seal, the earliest vessel in our fleet to be built, we are demonstrating our disciplined approach to locking in shareholder value. Flex LNG Adds $750M to Backlog with New Long-term LNG Carrier Charters

EDF Charters Fourth LNG Carrier from NYK

NYK-affiliated company France LNG Shipping has secured a long-term charter contract for a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier with EDF LNG Shipping SAS. The newly built LNG carrier is scheduled for delivery in 2025 from Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. This is the fourth NYK vessel on a long-term time-charter contract with the EDF Group.The newly built LNG carrier will be propelled by a WinGD-built, dual-fuel slow-speed diesel engine. The carrier will also feature an Air Liquide–manufactured*** Turbo-Brayton refrigeration system that can tap surplus boil-off gas.

First LNG Tanker Arrives Near Venture Global's Louisiana Calcasieu Plant

A tanker, the Yiannis, arrived near Venture Global LNG's Calcasieu Pass liquefied natural gas (LNG) export plant in Louisiana on Monday and could be first vessel to pick up a cargo at the facility, according to data from Refinitiv.Last week, Venture Global sought permission from federal energy regulators to load the first commissioning cargo from Calcasieu Pass.Venture Global asked the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to authorize the first cargo before Feb. 9 so the company could load that cargo on or after that date.Officials at Venture Global were not immediately available to comment on whether the Yiannis would be the first tanker to pick up LNG at the facility.Calcasieu started producing LNG around Jan.
