Petrobras Awards Acteon Mooring Services Contract

Intermoor, Acteon’s Moorings and Anchors business been awarded a new contract by Petrobras for the provision of stack-up mooring system services in Brazil.This work will support light-workover interventions and abandonment operations on installed subsea Christmas trees across both anchored and dynamically positioned mobile offshore drilling units (MODUs) and well intervention vessels (WIVs). Crowley Makes Harbor Services Acquisition

Crowley expanded its harbor services capabilities through the acquisition of Main Line Inc., a vessel mooring company based in Seattle, effective January 1, 2025.Main Line is a longtime provider of vessel mooring services in the Pacific Northwest for ship operators. Main Line staff members are transitioning to Crowley as part of the asset purchase agreement. Terms were not disclosed.

Sanmar Delivers Tug to Turkey's Mersin International Port

InterMoor Acquires BEL Grapnel & Chaser Designs

InterMoor, a provider of mooring services, foundation solutions and offshore installations in subsea services group Acteon, has announced the acquisition of all intellectual property of the BEL Grapnel & Chaser (BEL) company, including drawings, designs, and cast patterns for its complete range of anchor and chain handling equipment (chasers and grapnels).Based in the North East of England, with a heritage dating back to the mid-1970s, BEL was the first manufacturer of successful grapnel and chaser products.

ICS Pilotage, Towing and Mooring Survey 2016 Now Underway

The role of the pilot in mitigating the potential economic and environmental risk from today's large vessels is one of the most important in maritime safety. In recognition of this, the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) has embarked upon its first comprehensive survey of pilotage, towing and mooring services provided in ports and terminals around the world. The aim of the ICS Pilotage, Towing and Mooring Survey is to evaluate the extent to which established best practice is being followed, such as that recommended by the latest ICS Bridge Procedures Guide. Masters and Bridge Teams are being encouraged by ICS to highlight examples of good practice which make particularly valuable contributions to safety, environmental protection and the efficiency of ship operations.

Royal Moroccan Navy Turns to Damen for First Tug

The Royal Moroccan Navy has taken delivery of a Damen Stan Tug 2208. The 22-meter long vessel, named Al Mounkid, is the first tug to join Morocco’s sizeable naval fleet. The Royal Moroccan Navy has a fleet consisting of frigates, offshore patrol vessels, training vessels and hydrographic, amphibious and auxiliary vessels. Its fleet, however, did not include a tug of any sort. In the past, Morocco’s Navy has turned to third party tug operators for towing, moving and mooring services.

KTK Orders Two Damen Tugboats

On December 9, five years after the delivery of two ASD Tugs 2810 KTK Tribon and KTK Barakuda, Damen Shipyards Group and Kompania di Tou Korsou (KTK) signed an agreement for the delivery of two Stan Tugs 1205. The two vessels, due for delivery in April 2015, will be the first in a replacement program of KTK’s fleet of line handling/pilot launches. KTK, a 100% subsidiary of Curaçao Ports Authority (CPA), is responsible for all harbor towage and mooring services in all ports of Curaçao.

Deep Sea Mooring Wins Contract with Repsol

Global energy company Repsol has selected Deep Sea Mooring (DSM) to provide a range of mooring services for their drilling operations on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. DSM will be responsible for marine engineering and supplying the mooring equipment. The company will also assist in offshore operations, including both pre-lay and rig move. He added that this was the first time the two companies have worked together. The framework agreement is set to commence immediately and last four years including options. Deep Sea Mooring will manage the contract from its headquarters in Bergen.

InterMoor UK Completes 2,300 Accident-free Projects

InterMoor UK Operations, part of Acteon’s foundations and moorings business, says it has completed seven years and more than 2,300 projects without a single lost-time incident (LTI). The safety record includes the companies comprising InterMoor UK Operations – InterMoor Ltd, InterMoor Marine Services Ltd and ChainCo – and operations at three bases, five storage yards and numerous quayside locations where operations have been both in the UK and globally. U.S. Navy Contracts Update

The U.S. The Navy is modifying the total amount of a previously awarded contract to Huntington Ingalls Inc, Newport News, Va., (N00024-09-C-2116) by $407,408,093 in order to extend construction preparation efforts and provide the ability to procure additional long lead material and advance construction activities for CVN 79 if required. The current contract has been in place since 2009. This modification for additional long lead material and advance construction activity may help preserve the construction schedule. Work will be performed in Newport News, Va., and is expected to complete by October 2015. Additional funding is not being obligated at this time. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

IOS InterMoor Signs with ExxonMobil

IOS InterMoor AS, an Acteon company, signed a framework agreement with ExxonMobil Exploration & Production Norway AS to provide engineering services and equipment offshore Norway. The contract will run for five years with the option of three one-year extensions, and the work scope includes inspection and logistics on the Jotun and Balder fields in the North Sea. Barriers and Mooring Services for Naval Engineering Center

Truston Technologies Inc., GPA Technologies Inc., Harbor Offshore Inc., Great Eastern Group Inc., and Hardline-Resolute CM, J.V. are being awarded option year three under a previously awarded cost-plus-fixed-fee multiple award contract for barriers and mooring services in support of the Naval Facilities Engineering Service Center in Port Hueneme. The work to be performed provides for project execution, logistic support, and information management services for installation, inspection, repair, maintenance, and field supervision/operation of waterfront barriers, associated moorings, waterfront security systems, and marine facilities throughout the world. The combined total value for all five contractors is $17,500,000. No funds will be obligated with this award.
