Siemens Gamesa Firms Belgian Offshore Wind Project

Spanish wind turbine manufacturer Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) received the order for the 487 MW SeaMade offshore wind power project in Belgium from customer Seamade NV.The wind turbines and services provider said that it includes supply and commissioning of 58 units of the SG 8.0-167 DD offshore wind turbine and a 17-year Service agreement. SeaBird Takes Delivery of Seismic Vessel from CGG

Norwegian seismic surveyor SeaBird Exploration said it had taken delivery of the Geowave Voyager from France's CGG, and the vessel has been renamed Eagle Explorer.The vessel was acquired fully rigged with 40km streamer and dual source, for $17 million and a NOK 120 million private placement.As part of the purchase agreement, SeaBird will have a preferred supplier status with CGG when using the Eagle Explorer.SeaBird and CGG have entered into a 160-day contract for the vessel, operating as a source vessel…

SeaBird Exploration Acquires Geowave Voyager

SeaBird Exploration announced it is in an exclusive process to acquire the seismic vessel Geowave Voyager and certain seismic equipment from Exploration Vessel Resources II AS, a wholly owned subsidiary of CGG S.A., for a cash consideration of $17 million.SeaBird intends to carry out a private placement of new shares in the company raising gross proceeds of minimum NOK 80 million and maximum of NOK 120 million. The subscription price  in the Private Placement will be determined through an accelerated book-building process.

Aquaculture Firm Chooses Optimarin BWTS

Navios Selects Preferred Scrubber Supplier

Navios ShipManagement Inc., a member of Navios Group, has issued a letter of intent endorsing DuPont Clean Technologies as the preferred supplier of exhaust gas cleaning systems (EGCS) for its vessels. The letter of intent also confirms that Navios and DuPont Clean Technologies will carry out a joint feasibility study and techno-economic analysis of marine scrubbing units for retrofitting or new build installation on a variety of vessels, from bulk carriers to containers and tankers. The planned feasibility study will examine the viability of fitting DuPont Marine Scrubbers on both retrofit and newbuild projects. “Talks with Navios reached this point because both companies are focused on efficiently reducing emissions.

Eneco Consortium Wins Borssele III&IV Tender

The consortium of Eneco, Diamond Generating Europe, Shell and Van Oord has won the tender for the construction and operation of Dutch offshore windfarms Borssele III & IV. The preferred supplier for the wind turbines is MHI Vestas Offshore Wind. Winning the tender is a confirmation that the primarily Dutch based members of the consortium are committed and determined to push the energy transition forward in the Netherlands and the important role that offshore wind needs to play in it.

BWT: Optimarin Inks Deal with Carisbrooke

Optimarin secured a contract with the potential to be the ballast water treatment (BWT) specialist’s biggest ever. The Norwegian business announced that it has signed a fleet agreement with UK shipowner and management company Carisbrooke for its market leading Optimarin Ballast System (OBS). Radio Holland NavCom, VSAT for 4 Newbuilds

NavCom and On Board ICT specialist Radio Holland informs it has booked multiple orders in a challenging newbuild market. The company was awarded contracts to deliver and install the complete NavCom and VSAT packages for four newbuild vessels: two of the Meriaura Group and two of Eureka, part of SMT Shipping, all built at Royal Bodewes in Hoogezand, The Netherlands. “We have completed many successful projects with Radio Holland and are happy to work with them on these four new vessels,” said Johan Schouwenaar from Royal Bodewes.

Radio Holland Awarded Remote Monitoring Agreement

Radio Holland, part of the newly formed company RH Marine Group, has been awarded a Remote Monitoring Agreement from The China Navigation Company (CNCo). Subsea 7 Wins North Sea Decommissioning Work

Subsea 7 will provide decommissioning services for the second phase of Centrica’s Rose and Stamford gas field decommissioning programs, located in the southern North Sea. The project is the latest call-off contract under a partnership frame agreement signed in 2005. Subsea 7 has partnership frame agreements with several independent operators, to provide services on a long-term preferred supplier basis. This collaborative approach is helping to drive down costs and promote early engagement on a wide range of projects. Having completed phase one in 2015, phase two will focus on the safe removal and recovery of a greater number of subsea pipeline components, and the responsible management of waste disposal.

DBR Delivers 42 Gensets to Damen

DBR has delivered the last units of an order totaling 42 marine generator sets for Damen Shipyards Gorinchem. The generator sets will be installed on 14 ASD tugs that Damen is building at its Galaţi yard in Romania for a project in the Middle East. “Our engineers are currently executing commissioning and start-up works in Romania,” said DBR Managing Director Herwin Roodenburg. DBR performed the design and engineering work for the whole contract. “The generator sets are executed with double bearing generators and are started by compressed air,” Roodenburg explained.
