Wison’s FLNG FEED Design Earns AIP from ABS

Classification society ABS announced it has granted approval In principle (AIP) to Wison Offshore and Marine’s (WOM) Extended FEED on its standardized 3.5 MTPA floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) design.WOM has said the standardized design reduces CO2 emissions and results in a shortened engineering schedule by about 40%.Jiang Hao, WOM General Manager, FLNG Division, said, “WOM continues to optimize and standardize FLNG design, which would significantly improve the production efficiency and effectively reduce the carbon emissions in the production process. . .

Wison Begins Arctic LNG 2 Project

Wison Offshore & Marine (WOM), the upstream oil and gas division of Chinese conglomerate Wison Group Holding, announced the fabrication of Arctic LNG 2 Project (ALNG2 Project) commenced in Zhoushan Yard.The module fabrication contract was awarded by Technip France S.A., a wholly-owned subsidiary of TechnipFMC.Novatek, client of ALNG2 project, is the largest independent natural gas producer in Russia. Wison, GTT Ink LNG Floater Accord

French technology firm Gaztransport and Technigaz (GTT) has signed a technical assistance and license agreement (TALA)  for the use of its membrane solutions for liquefied natural gas (LNG) vessels with Chinese shipyard Wison Offshore & Marine (WOM).The deal covers equipment of floating liquefied natural gas units (FLNG), floating storage and regasification units (FSRU), floating storage regasification power (FSRP) units and LNG carriers, using membrane solutions developed by the French LNG containment specialist.WOM is a pioneer in floating LNG in China, being the first in the world to deliver barge-based FLNG and FSRU on a turn-key basis.

Wison Bags FEED Contract for FLNG Project from Western LNG

Wison Offshore & Marine and Western LNG signed a technical service agreement (TSA) for the new floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) project that Western is developing in British Columbia, Canada.Pursuant to the TSA, Wison will develop the basis of design (BOD) and carry out front-end engineering design (FEED) for the proposed FLNG to be sited at the proposed facility.Western has also agreed to the appointment of Wison as the EPC service provider for the floating liquefaction plant upon project FID.Under the terms of the TSA, Wison will provide a cost competitive FEED package utilizing its experienced in-house design team and execution methodology that has been optimized based on the successful delivery of the Caribbean FLNG.

Wison Offshore & Marine announced it has been awarded a contract to carry out front-end engineering design (FEED) for a proposed floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) project sited in British Columbia, Canada.Wison said it has entered into a Technical Service Agreement (TSA) with the project’s developer Western LNG LLC, pursuant to which Wison will develop the basis of design (BOD) and carry out FEED wordk. Gunvor to Lease Exmar FSRU

Gunvor will lease the floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) for ten years from the Belgian gas tanker company Exmar. "Exmar is pleased to announce that it has executed a fully effective ten year charter with Gunvor for the provision of its FSRU (floating Storage and Regasification Unit) barge and related services in Bangladesh," stated a press release from the company. The Exmar FSRU barge is currently at Keppel Shipyard undergoing site specific modifications after having been delivered from Wison Offshore and Marine in December 2017. The FSRU barge is expected to arrive in Bangladesh in the fourth quarter of this year and start operations after its full commissioning. Currently the FSRU has been fully paid by Exmar and the financing of the unit is under discussion.

Exmar Barge-Based FSRU on Way to Singapore

Exmar said its FSRU (Floating Storage and Regasification Unit) barge delivered end of 2017 has left the Wison Offshore Marine shipyard on Wednesday left the Wison Offshore Marine shipyard in China and set course towards Singapore. There the unit will undergo site specific modifications before departing to its project destination to commence its long-term employment mid-2018 in line with its time charter commitments. This is an important step in the successful implementation of the barge-based regasification strategy of Exmar, said the company. The FSRU is the first, new built regasification barge in the world, built on a speculative basis by Exmar, and the FSRU was able to obtain a long-term contract prior to her delivery from the yard.

A shipbuilding first was recorded with Exmar took delivery of the world's first barge-based FSRU and secures long-term employment for the unit. Final delivery of the world’s first barge-based floating LNG storage and re-gasification unit (FSRU) from the Wison Shipyard in Nantong, China. Wison, CCS Partner on China’s FSRU Standards

Wison Offshore & Marine announced it will collaborate with China Classification Society (CCS) Wuhan Rules & Research Institute on various fronts of floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) storage and re-gasification facility (FSRU) developments in China under a strategic cooperation agreement. Pursuant to the agreement, both parties will embark on a wide range of joint efforts in development and optimization of FSRU products, formulation of relevant technical standards, design and review, joint research of new technologies, exchange of know-how and talent development for the industry.

Wison, KBR Team up for FLNG Project

Wison Offshore & Marine said it has signed a memorandum with KBR, Inc. for cooperation on a 1.5 MPTA floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) liquefaction unit (FLNG) in Southeast Asia.   The companies will collaborate on a mutually exclusive basis for Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited's FLNG project in Papua New Guinea.

Wison Inks LNG Tie-up with GTT

China’s Wison Offshore & Marine has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with GTT, a provider of design and engineering of containment systems for maritime transportation and storage of LNG. Pursuant to the agreement, both parties will conduct a cooperation work on various LNG projects, such as LNG Carrier, LNG FSRU (Floating Storage Regasification Units), FLNG (Floating LNG unit) or other LNG floating unit with GTT membrane tanks. The cooperation with GTT will help to strengthen Wison’s position in offering clients floating LNG products in full range of capacities. Wison Launches Buoyant Tower Solutions with Storage

Wison Offshore & Marine has developed a new Buoyant Tower solution with condensate or oil storage, adopting Wison’s proprietary Buoyant Tower technology. This floating concept provides a new economic and reliable option for the oil and gas development in the shallow to medium-depth waters. Wison Granted AIP for Its Innovative Floating LNG Storage

Wison Offshore & Marine announced that it has received Approval in Principle (AIP) from Bureau Veritas  for its newly-developed large-scale Floating LNG Storage and Regasification Terminal. Featuring scalable storage capacity up to equivalent size of a Q-Max, this is the first large-scale FSRU barge design that has been granted AIP by a classification society. It also marks that Wison is now capable of providing comprehensive range of FSRU solutions catering LNG import markets with various scales of demand. World's First Barge-based FSRU Exits Dry Dock

The world’s first barge-based Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) has undocked from dry-dock in Nantong, China, announced Wison Offshore & Marine, who provided EPC services for Exmar. Upon the undocking, topside installation has been completed, which paves the way for delivery. This is the first FSRU being built in China and the facility is to become the world’s first FSRU with small-scale storage capacity. This non-propelled FSRU barge has a regasification capacity of 600MMSCFD. Two SPB cargo tanks, each with a capacity of 12,500 m3, are installed in the hull for LNG storage.

With design philosophy of “plug-in power”, all products which are named W-FSRP series (Wison-Floating Storage Regasification and Power generation) feature integrated functions of LNG loading and storage facilities, regasification and power generation. First FLNG Production Facility Completes Testing

The first natural gas floating liquefaction unit (FLNG) has completed performance testing at the Wison Offshore & Marine yard in Nantong, China, marking the first time LNG has been produced onboard a floating facility. The performance test was carried out in the presence of classification societies, EXMAR and all the relevant parties, Wison said. During the 72-hour performance test, the performance of the FLNG ensured all key design requirements and production capacities (guaranteed performance) were achieved for the unit’s operational effectiveness.

First FSRU "Made-in-China"

Wison Offshore & Marine Ltd. held a ceremony to celebrate the keel-laying of the EXMAR FSRU project, a barged-based floating LNG regasification unit, in the dry-dock of Wison Offshore & Marine on October 20 in Nantong, China, marking the first important project milestone achieved by the company. Under the agreement for the regasification unit, Wison Offshore & Marine will provide EXMAR the turnkey engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) solution for the project. It is the first time for a Chinese company to undertake a FSRU project under an EPCIC contact. The EXMAR FSRU, a non-propelled barge, will be equipped with two regasification plants of 400MMSCFD and 200MMSCFD regasification capacity respectively.

EXMAR Orders Second FLNG from Wison

EXMAR NV has placed an order for a second Floating LNG Liquefaction Unit (FLNG) at Wison Offshore & Marine. Under the agreement, Wison will be responsible for the turnkey engineering, procurement, construction, transportation, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) of the FLNG, which will be a self-contained barge with a liquefaction capacity of 0.6 MTPA and 20,000 m³ of LNG storage. The FLNG will be constructed at Wison’s shipyard in Nantong, China, where also the construction of the world’s first FLNG for EXMAR is nearing completion.
