New OOCL Mega-Container Ship Chartered Out

The new 13,208 TEU container ship commissioned by OOCL from  has been christened 'NYK Hermes' at  Samsung's Geoje, South Korea, shipyard.

The new ship is the sixth of ten ordered from Samsung Heavy Industries and has been leased by OOCL to NYK.

NKY Hermes
is 366 meters (approximately 1,201 feet) long and 157 feet wide, with a depth of 98 feet.

The ship has been leased by OOCL to serve NYK’s Asia-Europe trade on the Loop 4 service with the  rotation: Ningbo, Shanghai and Yantian, China; Singapore; Suez Canal; Le Havre, France; Southampton, U.K.; Hamburg, Germany; Rotterdam, the Netherlands; Suez Canal; Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Singapore; Yantian; and Ningbo. Taking 77 days for the round voyage..
