In recent years, Vietnam has emerged as an important producer of oil and natural gas in Southeast Asia. Despite the current economic crisis, the country continues boosting its activities in the energy industry. Accordingly, global technical assurance and consulting company Germanischer Lloyd (GL) has reinforced its local presence by opening two new offices in Ho Chi Minh City and Danang.

Germanischer Lloyd Industrial Services have been operating in Vietnam since 1996. At first only a Representative Office with four people, GL today employs a team of almost 30 based in the country office in Vung Tau, in Hanoi and the new offices in Ho Chi Minh City and Danang. As part of the company’s global growth strategy, GL is considering to open yet another office in Nha Trang later this year and boost the local workforce up to 50.

Many projects have been initiated recently and now are commencing their implementation. With the newly opened offices GL is able to provide its services even closer to local customers, including high-profile developers such as Hoang Long JOC, Petronas Carigali Vietnam, VIETSOVPETRO JV, PETROVIETNAM and PV Gas.
