Western Baltija Shipbuilding delivers multi-purpose cargo ship

Western Baltija Shipbuilding - a part of Western Shipyard which in its turn belongs to the biggest Estonian concern BLRT Grupp has finished a turnkey project and delivered a multi-purpose cargo vessel Anetta.

According to Fjodor Berman, the Chairman of the Board of BLRT Grupp, building vessels from scratch, starting from the elaboration of a vessel’s concept and ending with its launching, has been the ultimate goal of the concern all these years. Multi-purpose cargo vessel Anetta is the second such purpose turnkey delivery of new build vessel for Western Baltija Shipbuilding.

The vessel was constructed for the transportation of bulk and bale cargo, timber, grain, and steel coils. Apart from that, it is also fit for transportation of dangerous goods in package from classes 2 to 9 and dangerous goods in bulk classes 4, 5, and 9 (IMO IMDG code). The ship is equipped with crew cabins which can accommodate up to 10 persons.

The vessel’s length is 89.9 m, width 14.5 m, and it is capable of sailing at a maximum speed of 11.5 knots. Deadweight of the vessel is 4600 tons, maximum draft is 5.77 meters.

Anetta has two cargo holds with 10 pontoon hatches, each of the cargo holds with capacity of 2875 m3 is equipped with a movable bulkhead. Permissible load on cargo deck is 15 tons per m2. MCR of the main engine is 1600 kW. Auxiliary plant consists of two 248 kW auxiliary diesel generators, 350 kW shaft generator and 70 kW emergency diesel generator. Apart from that, the vessel is equipped with bow thruster with nominal input power of 300 kW.

The concept and design of multi-purpose vessel was elaborated by Western Baltic Engineering, a part of Western Shipyard group of companies. During the process of construction, the vessel was surveyed by the classification society Lloyd‘s Register.
