Drydocks World Repairs NDC Drilling Rig
Drydocks World, an international service provider to the marine and maritime sectors including to the oil and gas and energy industry, announced the completion of major repair and refurbishment of National Drilling Company’s (NDC) jack up drilling rig Al Ittihad. The company said it has carried out maintenance work on several of NDC’s rigs, and the numbers have increased over the years: Drydocks World received four orders in 2013 to add to the eight projects completed previously.

Container Lines Plan Pacific Freight Rate Rise
Container shipping lines have agreed to raise Asia-U.S. freight rates by $300 per 40-foot container (FEU) to west coast ports of the U.S. and by $400 to all other ports in the U.S from May 15. The increase was agreed by companies in the Transpacific Stabilization Agreement (TSA) which also adopted a $400 per FEU peak season surcharge effective June 15, the TSA said in a statement. The TSA groups 15 of the world's biggest container shipping lines, including Denmark's Maersk Line, a unit of A.P.
Gazprom Ends Plan To Build Pipeline To Italy
Gazprom has abandoned plans to build a section of its disputed South Stream gas pipeline to Italy, two sources close to the company said on Wednesday, a day after Gazprom announced a deal with OMV to build a branch to Austria. The memorandum of understanding with the Austrian oil and gas company foresees building a section of the giant pipeline from Hungary to OMV's Central European Gas Hub near Vienna. Argentine Province Expects Big Oil To Bid In Shale Block Auction
Argentina's Neuquen province expects major global energy companies, including Royal Dutch Shell, Chevron Corp and Exxon Mobil Corp , to bid in a May auction of 11 oil blocks, its energy minister said on Wednesday. The exploration and development blocks include conventional and unconventional oil and gas resources, most of them in the vast Vaca Muerta shale formation, considered one of the world's biggest shale deposits. The results are expected for August.
Brazil Navy expands network to 10 AXYS 3 Meter buoys
XYS Technologies Inc (AXYS) recently shipped two 3-Meter buoys for the Centro de Hidrografia da Marinha (CHM) of the Diretoria de Hidrografia e Navegacao (DHN) in Niteroi. The buoys will be added to the PNBOIA (GOOS-Brasil) buoy network, bringing the total number of 3-Meter buoys owned by the Navy to ten. The buoys will be deployed offshore in an effort to provide complete coverage of the Brazil coastline.
