Almar, North River Boats Delivers Fire Boat
Almar by North River Boats Inc. of Roseburg, Ore. announced the recent delivery of a 30-ft by 10-ft Sounder / Fire Boat. This boat was built to NFPA 1925 standards and the fire suppression system was UL Certified prior to delivery. The boat is equipped with twin Honda 225 hp four stroke outboards for its main propulsion system and powers the 30-ft vessel at greater than 32 knots. A single 200 gallon fuel tank supplies the propulsion engines, fire engine and genset.

U.S. Barge LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vigor Industrial LLC, this week will deliver a combination Deck and Tank Barge to NorthStar Gas LLC, an Alaskan Petroleum Distributor. The CAUNEQ was christened on April 15, 2011 and will start making deliveries in May to the Yukon, Kuskokwim and Western Alaska Costal Regions. NorthStar Gas and its operating partner, Delta Western, will use this barge to service customers in Western Alaska, stabilizing the transportation costs of fuel in the region.

Houston Pilots Celebrate 90th Anniversary
The Houston Pilots celebrated their 90th anniversary by inviting community and political leaders, maritime partners and friends to their new facility on Friday, April 1st. Deer Park Mayor Wayne Riddle welcomed the pilots to the neighborhood with a key to the city and presided over the ribbon cutting. During the ceremony, Father Patout gave a blessing to the pilots and their new building, and the United States Coast Guard honored Houston Pilot Captain Bob Webbon with a safety accommodation.
