Hamburg Süd Chooses EUROGATE
Hamburg Süd shipping line has awarded the contract for handling its new EMCS – Europe-Mexico/Caribbean Service to EUROGATE Container Terminal Hamburg. The first ship will berth at the terminal on 13 November 2014. The regular service links Northern Europe with Central America and is scheduled to call at Hamburg on a weekly basis. Hamburg Süd is operating the service with six container vessels each with a nominal capacity of 2,500 TEUs.

Syzran Refinery Output Up
Following the results of nine months of 2014, Syzran Refinery, a part of the Samara group of refineries of Rosneft, increased output of major oil products compared to the same period in 2013. For instance, almost 1.5 million tons of diesel fuel were produced which is 12% higher compared to the first nine months of 2013, and exceeds the plan by 18%. Production of motor spirit increased by 85 thousand tons compared to the previous year, and amounted to 900 thousand tons.
G20 Targets New Global Energy Body
Leaders at the G20 Summit are seeking to lay the foundations for a new global energy trade regime to help ensure open markets and prevent oil and gas supplies being used as tools of foreign policy, the Australian newspaper reported on Saturday. A central part of the plan, which has the backing of Saudi Arabia and Russia, would be an institution to sit above OPEC and the International Energy Agency, the newspaper said in an unsourced report.
Oil Surges After Brent Crash
Brent crude jumped almost $2 a barrel on Friday for its biggest daily gain in three weeks as support emerged a day after prices crashed to four-year lows below $80, but analysts were skeptical the rebound would continue, citing concerns over oversupply.
