Progress in Efforts to Address Sexual Assault - DoD
The Department of Defense today released its Annual Report on Sexual Harassment and Violence at the United States Military Service Academies (MSA) for academic program year (APY) 2014 - 2015. As part of a comprehensive review, DoD officials conducted site visits at the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy and the U.S. Air Force Academy, held focus groups with cadets and midshipmen, and reviewed academy policies, training, and procedures.
Pioneer Marine Acquires Eco-Design Vessel
Pioneer Marine Inc., today accepted delivery of a 38,419 DWT Green Dolphin eco-design handysize vessel, the M.V. Kite Bay. The new vessel, which was constructed at Yangzhou Guoyu Shipbuilding Co., Ltd, is Pioneer’s second Green Dolphin eco-design handysize vessel. Diana Shipping Signs US$75.7 mln Term Loan Facility
Diana Shipping Inc. announced that yesterday it signed, through three separate wholly-owned subsidiaries, a term loan facility for up to US$75,734,900 with The Export-Import Bank of China. The purpose of this facility is to partially finance, after delivery, the acquisition cost of two new-building Newcastlemax dry bulk vessels of approximately 208,500 dwt each and one new-building Kamsarmax dry bulk vessel of approximately 82,000 dwt.
USCG Warns of Unsafe Ice
The Coast Guard is urging people to use extreme caution when venturing onto the ice across Lake Superior, St. Marys River, and the northern parts of lakes Michigan and Huron with the forecasted rain and snow predicted this weekend. The snow-covered ice will give a false appearance that the ice is safe. Ice is unpredictable and the thickness can vary, even in small areas. Water currents, particularly around narrow spots, bridges, inlets and outlets, are always suspect for thin ice.
