Crude Oil Spill in Delaware River: Boom Deployed
Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay watchstanders received notification of the spill at approximately 1 p.m. Monday (local time) after the National Response Center informed of an estimated 1,000 gallons of crude oil spilled into the Delaware River near Monroe Energy LLC, located about one mile south of the Commodore Barry Bridge. A boom is deployed to contain the oil while responders use skimmers and vacuums to remove the oil from the water.

Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding, Duclos Corporation, has delivered the first of six Chesapeake Class pilot boats for coastal and offshore patrol operations and port security, provided by the Colombian Department of the Navy. Designed by C. Raymond Hunt & Associates, the all-aluminum deep-V hull measures 56.6 feet overall, with a 17.8-foot beam and 3-foot draft, and has a top speed of 27 knots. Willard Delivers Rescue Boats in Alaska
Willard Marine, a 56-year-old builder of composite and aluminum boats, has delivered two rescue boats for the Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS). Under the contract, Willard Marine is supplying two U.S. Coast Guard-approved SEA FORCE 670 SOLAS fast rescue boats (FRBs) for the 418-ft. passenger/ro-ro ferry M/V Columbia. Each of the two 22-ft. fiberglass 670 FRBs is powered by an inboard 230 HP diesel engine and water jet and can carry up to nine passengers.
Brunei Shell Orders Trelleborg Foam Fenders
Trelleborg has won the contract to supply more than 100 of its SeaGuard foam fenders to Brunei Shell’s Kuala Belait supply base wharf in Brunei, through local Brunei registered contractor Waqi Sdn Bhd. As part of an upgrade project for the wharf, 93 fenders are required to span six berthing spaces. The fenders will be installed with spacing of 1.5 meters, covering a length along the entire Kuala Belait Supply Base Wharf of 325 meters.
