Kvichak Delivers 65' Passenger Catamaran
Kvichak Marine Industries, of Seattle, WA, recently delivered the P/V āTecopaā, a 65ā passenger catamaran for the Chemehuevi Transit Authority of Lake Havasu, California. The vessel operates as a ferry on Lake Havasu, with ports of call at Lake Havasu City on the Arizona side and at Havasu Landing on the California side. Tecopa was sea trialed in Seattle then disassembled and loaded on two trucks and shipped to Havasu Landing, CA where it was reassembled by Kvichak with support from the tribe.

STX France Wins 'Oasis-class' Cruise Ship Contract
Royal Caribbean International chooses STX France to build its third 'Oasis- class' ship. This, the third ship of the Oasis- class, is due for delivery in mid-2016, and an option for a second ship due in mid-2018 is also provided for in the contract. "The Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas have fundamentally transformed the cruise experience for our guests," said Richard D. Fain, chairman and chief executive officer of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.
M/V Aiviq
The M/V Aiviq icebreaker, contracted by Shell Oil to support drilling in Alaskaās Chukchi Sea, was ordered in July 2009 and completed by Edison Chouest Offshore in early 2012. The $200m Aiviq is the largest vessel ever built by Chouest, and will be among the most advanced and powerful, non-military icebreakers on the waters. In order for a ship to be āice class,ā the hull must be thick, and extra girders, beams and bulkheads are needed for structural integrity.
