Bollinger Delivers USCG’s 16th FRC
Bollinger Shipyards has delivered the newly built Fast Response Cutter (FRC) Winslow Griesser for the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) seventh district in Puerto Rico. The USCG took delivery on December 23, 2015 in Key West, Fla., and is scheduled to commission the vessel in Puerto Rico during March, 2016. The 154-foot patrol craft Winslow Griesser is the 16th vessel in the USCG’s Sentinel-class FRC program.
KVH Expands mini-VSAT Broadband Network
KVH Industries, Inc. expanded the capacity of its mini-VSAT Broadband network with two upgrades recently, supporting growing customer demand for broadband at sea. One expansion added a new satellite beam that doubled the mini-VSAT Broadband network capacity in the North Atlantic Ocean region, including Canada’s Hudson Bay. The second expansion added a new beam across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa to add 30 percent more capacity across areas such as the North Sea and the Mediterranean Sea.

LNG-powered Cement Carrier Delivered
Dutch shipbuilder Ferus Smit announced it has delivered the world’s first LNG-powered cement tanker, MV Greenland. The delivery was preceded by an extensive program of trials and tests in which the proper working and safety of all systems was verified.
