Cargotec Receives an Order from Chinese Shipyard
A Chinese state-owned shipyard has ordered MacGregor variable frequency drive cranes and folding-type hatch covers for Greek bulk shipping operator Ariston Navigation's six new generation 35,000 dwt bulkers. The contract is booked into Cargotec's second quarter order intake. Deliveries are scheduled for 2013 and 2014. Ariston Navigation Corporation, part of the family-owned Xylas Group, has ordered a series of 35,000 dwt handysize Seastallion vessels from the shipyard.

At 10:07 on Saturday 14, July 2012 Falmouth Coastguard received the relayed 'Mayday' broadcast from the German registered MSC Flaminia reporting that the crew had abandoned the vessel. Falmouth Coastguard broadcast an alert to all vessels in the area and the nearest vessel which could provide assistance was the oil tanker DS Crown which immediately changed course to intercept the MSC Flaminia.
