Scott R. Atkinson has joined winch and deck machinery manufacturer Markey Machine as vice president of business development. Atkinson’s previous business development roles were at the former Rapp Hydema (now part of MacGregor), AdvanTec Marine and Arctic Storm, as well as through his consulting firm, Jaeger Marine. Prior new business included advances into offshore wind, offshore oil and gas, research vessels, and varied marine business in the Russian Far East.Blaine Dempke, CEO of Markey Machine, said, “Scott adds an important aspect to our customer relations and business development efforts.

St. Johns Ship Building recently awarded AdvanTec Marine, parent company of Freeman Marine, an order for cast-aluminum hatches to be installed aboard two new-build crew transfer vessels (CTV) that the Palatka, Fla. shipyard is building for WINDEA CTV. Freeman’s 2400 series hatches, with knife-edge seals and integrated quick-acting handles, meet USCG emergency-egress requirements. The hatches also ensure maximum watertight protection required for tough offshore working environments.

Diamond Sea Glaze said it has been chosen by Tacoma, Wash. shipbuilder Silverback Marine to provide windows and a wheelhouse door for its first-ever crew transfer vessel (CTV) for ship-to-shore (STS) operations. AdvanTec Marine said its USA Sliding Doors division has been awarded a contract from Seaspan Shipyards to supply Fire-Rated, Class II and III Watertight doors for both Joint Support Ships (JSS) that Seaspan is building for the Royal Canadian Navy under Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy.The order includes USA-1005 Cargo Doors and the USA-1003 Personnel Doors. Both models have remote (wheelhouse) and local controls, both electric, while the drive system is electro-hydraulic. In the event vessel power is lost, a local manual handpump is also provided as a failsafe feature.

AdvanTec Global Innovations, parent to the Diamond Sea Glaze (DSG), Steelhead Marine (SME), Pacific Coast Marine (PCM) and Freeman Marine Equipment (FME) brands, has launched a stock door program geared to the commercial marine market. The DSG 250 door in hinged and dutch configurations forms the backbone of the program and is supported by the FME 1212 door. These standard configuration doors, designed for the commercial marine market, are in stock and ready to be shipped or can be manufactured within a three-week lead time.

AdvanTec Global Innovations, parent to the Diamond Sea Glaze, Steelhead Marine, Pacific Coast Marine and Freeman Marine Equipment brands, today announced the following business development appointment that will enhance the company’s ability to provide local representation to the marine industry. Charlie Moore assumes the position of Industry Specialist, Cranes/Yacht, with responsibility for business development and growth of the Steelhead and Pacific Coast Marine brands within the marine products portfolio. Moore brings over 20 years of marine experience working in shipyards and his own marine business and has worked at some of the most recognizable shipyards such as; Derecktor, Austal and Bradford Marine in production and management roles.

AdvanTec Global Innovations has announced it will consolidate its Pacific Coast Marine (PCM) manufacturing operations into other AdvanTec manufacturing facilities in the United States and Canada, effective July 31, 2014. "This move will expand PCM’s product capabilities," said AdvanTec CEO Paul Hill. PCM will continue to operate its sales and service hub out of the Greater Seattle Area. Licensed Professional Engineer and Naval Architect Andrew Mund has been named AdvanTec Marine's Technical Director.In this role Mr. Mund will extend his commitment to the industry by expanding his offerings to a wider client base, leading marine engineering and design initiatives for all five of the companies that make up the AdvanTec Marine family:  Diamond Sea Glaze; Freeman Marine; Manly Marine; Pacific Coast Marine and Steelhead Marine. Mr. Mund's early career days were spent as a naval architect.

The marine division of AdvanTec Global Innovations, AdvanTec Marine recently embarked on a rebranding initiative. The division, formerly called Advanced Marine Technologies (AMT), rebranded to better showcase the company's marine products portfolio and to unify its immense capabilities. "As a unified group of marine companies, each with decades of experience, we bring together under our AdvanTec Marine brand comprehensive solutions and innovative ideas all delivered through a single source," said Darren Loken, AdvanTec's Marine Division President.

Under New Ownership, Freeman Marine becomes part of the Advanced Marine Technologies Group. Freeman Marine Equipment Inc., a globally recognized brand and major US supplier to the worldwide marine industry, is now part of Advanced Marine Technologies (AMT). The company was purchased by AdvanTec Global Innovations of British Columbia, Canada. AdvanTec owns the four companies that make up the AMT Group. The other members of the group are Diamond Sea Glaze, Steelhead Marine and Manly Marine. Freeman Marine is the latest acquisition AdvanTec has made in its marine manufacturing division.
