Anadarko, Bharat Petroleum Sign LNG Deal

American petroleum and natural gas exploration and production company Anadarko, on behalf of the Mozambique Area 1 partners, signed a deal with Bharat Gas Resources (BGR) for the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) volumes from the Mozambique LNG development.The sale and purchase agreement (SPA) is for 1 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) for a term of 15 years. BGR is a wholly owned subsidiary of Government of India controlled  oil and gas giant Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.

MOL Techno-Trade in Green Initiative

Japanese shipping giant Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) announced that its group company MOL Techno-Trade has joined a Green Award Program aimed at promoting high-quality shipping.The program is run by the nonprofit Green Award Foundation, which was established with the objectives of protecting the marine environment and enhancing safe operation.The program aims to improve the quality of vessels and mariners and protect the marine environment by certifying vessels for excellence in safety and low environmental impact.

MOL, Total Make Refueling Europe Easier

Japanese logistics giant Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) and French multinational integrated oil and gas company Total S.A. signed an agreement which will make travelling across Europe easier for their corporate customers.The agreement provides for acceptance of MOL Group Cards by Total in its network of stations in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, The Netherlands and Germany. Anadarko Sells LNG to CNOOC

MOL's LNG-Fueled Tug Begins Bunkering

Japanese shipping company Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) that its LNG-fueled tugboat 'Ishin' bunkered LNG fuel in Sakai Senboku Port for the first time, in preparation for test operation.MOL ordered the vessel from Kanagawa Dockyard. This is the first bunkering of LNG as a vessel fuel at any port in the Kansai region.The LNG fuel was supplied by Osaka Gas using a truck-to-ship LNG bunkering procedure. MAN Wins First Order for High-Pressure SCR Two-Stroke Engines

German marine engineering giant MAN Energy Solutions has announced the very first order for its SCR-HP (Selective Catalytic Reduction – High Pressure) product. According to a press release from the producer of large-bore diesel engines and turbomachinery for marine industry, Mitsui (MES) has ordered 3 × SCR-HP (cluster 3) units in connection with the building of three 87k-dwt bulk carriers for the Ocean 21 Holdings company.Each bulker will be powered by a single MAN B&W 6S46ME-B8.5 low-speed engine delivering 9,900 kW at 84 rpm, and aspirated by an MAN TCA66 turbocharger.

Marine Power: First Order for High-Pressure SCR for Two-Stroke Engines

MAN Energy Solutions announced the first order for its SCR-HP (Selective Catalytic Reduction – High Pressure) product. Mitsui (MES) has ordered 3 × SCR-HP (cluster 3) units in connection with the building of three 87,000-dwt bulk carriers for the Ocean 21 Holdings .Each ship is to be powered by a single MAN B&W 6S46ME-B8.5 low-speed engine delivering 9,900 kW at 84 rpm, and aspirated by an MAN TCA66 turbocharger. Importantly, the engines will meet IMO Tier III emission standards. MAN Energy Solutions introduced SCR-HP along with its licensee, MES, in 2017.

ExxonMobil Signs LNG Tie-up Pact with Uniper

Moody's Downgrades MOL

The rating company Moody's Japan K.K. has downgraded  Japanese shipping company Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd.'s (MOL) corporate family rating to Ba2 from Ba1. Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL)  is to increase the roll-out of Inmarsat’s Fleet Xpress Service, across the remainder of its owned and managed fleet. Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. held a christening ceremony for a next-generation LNG (liquefied natural gas) carrier under construction for TRANS PACIFIC SHIPPING 5 LTD., a joint venture of JERA Co., Inc. (JERA) and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL). The new ship, named Nohshu Maru, is the fourth vessel of the latest model "Sayaringo STaGE" type, featuring significant improvements in both LNG carrying capacity and fuel performance due to the adoption of a more efficient hull structure and an innovative hybrid propulsion system.

Uniper, Mitsui OSK Lines Press Ahead German FSRU

German energy group Uniper and Japanese shipping group Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) have agreed to intensify efforts on the Wilhelmshaven FSRU (Floating Storage and Regasification Unit) project in Germany, which could start up as early as H2 2022.The FSRU has a planned send-out capacity of 10 bcm/a and liquefied natural (LNG) storage capacity of 263,000 m³, said a press release from Uniper, the international energy company with operations in more than 40 countries.The project benefits from the existing site in Wilhelmshaven where required infrastructure is already in place.
