German engineering firm Voith has rolled out online platform 'MyVoith' for digital applications and services."MyVoith is a global platform that brings together the company’s digital services and business-related information in one location. The platform offers users personalized access to their applications, services and data from the Voith world," it said in a release.These include industry-specific webshops, asset management solutions and further self-service applications, as well as the Voith IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) applications and services.

CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd Introduce ReUse in Mexico with Avantida

Avantida, an INTTRA company, announced that CMA CGM and Hapag-Lloyd, two of the world’s largest liner shipping companies, are offering reUse container management services in Mexico. reUse is a container triangulation service for transporters made available on Avantida’s online platform. Almarin Buoys Reach New Markets

Almarin navigation buoys are being installed in a growing number of markets both in Europe and further afield, proving the effectiveness of their simple reliable design with the use of high quality materials manufactured in Europe. In the Léman lake, border between France and Switzerland, buoys have been installed to mark a floating containment boom in the estuary of Rhone river, nearby Port Valais. The Balizamar buoys used in this case were adapted by the customer for this application.

Brightoil Launches Online Bunker Trading Platform

Carriers have Withdrawn Extremely Low Spot Market Freight Rates - Drewry

Drewry’s Global Freight Rate Index, a weighted average of spot container freight rates across all major routes except intra-Asia, swung back in July by 13% to reach $1,403 per 40ft box. The global spot rate index had dropped to an all-time low of $1,113 per 40ft container in April. Drewry is in a unique position to track these trends through its Container Freight Rate Insight online platform, via which a constant panel of over 30 forwarders and NVOCCs report rates on a continuous basis.

The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Aberdeen Section has announced the recipients of its annual student bursaries programme for 2015-2016. In total, £7,500 was awarded to seven students attending Aberdeen, Robert Gordon, Dundee, Heriot-Watt and Strathclyde universities. Almost 100 applications were received and for the first time this year, the shortlisted finalists were invited to present one of their answers from their bursary application to a panel of judges before the final recipients were selected.
