V.Group to Manage ADNOC's 93 Offshore Vessels

V.Group: Proactive Approach to 2020 Needed

V.Group has urged shipowners and operators to take a proactive approach to 2020 compliance. With the global sulphur cap less than nine months away, V.Group is seeing growing numbers of shipowners and operators developing Ship Implementation Plans (SIPs) to mitigate risks and minimize disruption.It is predicted that most ships will burn ultra low sulphur fuel oils (ULSFOs) to comply with the suplhur cap legislation, switching from high sulphur fuel oil (HFO) to ULSFOs with a sulphur content at, or below, 0.50%, unless equipped with scrubbers.

V.Group, a global marine support services provider, has announced that it has appointed Steve Holland as a non-executive director.Holland brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise garnered from over 30 years in chemical manufacturing and distribution. He is currently Chief Executive Officer of Brenntag, the world’s largest chemicals and ingredients distributor, operating in 73 countries with 16,000 employees.Holland began his career in research and development. V.Ships Offshore, part of V.Group, has been awarded the contract to provide operations and full technical management of the floating storage and offloading (FSO) vessel – Pertamina Abherka in Indonesia. This is the second vessel owned by Pertamina International Shipping to be managed by V.Ships Offshore. The FSO, currently operating at Poleng Marine Terminal, offshore west of Madura Island, also acts as an accommodation facility with a potential capacity of 250 including 21 crew members.

Marlins, V.Group’s training business, has approved two new test centres in Panama and Ethiopia. The test centre in Panama is the first Marlins approved test centre in Central America. Marine and offshore vessel management and support services provider V.Group said it has acquired Graig Ship Management Ltd, part of Graig Shipping PLC, which has developed a reputation for new build supervision and ship management of dry bulk vessels. This reputation, which has its roots as part of Graig Shipping PLC’s 100 year history and is supported by a global maritime workforce, has grown steadily over the past 25 years.
