Total, Zhejiang Energy Establish Bunkering JV

The Zhoushan Islands are just off shore of east China's Zhejiang province, and lie south of Shanghai on Hangzhou Bay. The main island is home to a naval base, shipyards and a port. It is a busy island with a well-developed ferry system carrying both people and vehicles back and forth to the mainland. A fine new 690-passenger ferry, Zhoushan Islands Prosperity, has recently been added to this fleet of vessels. It is the largest ferry to date from the Hunan Xiangchuan Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd.

DP World Joins Chinese Firm for First Traders Market

The Dubai-based ports operator DP World announced a partnership with Zhejiang China Commodity City Group Company (CCC) to develop the ‚ÄėTraders Market‚Äô in Jebel Ali Freezone.The project will span around 800,000 sq m, with phase 1, estimated at $150 million, covering about 220,000 sq m. Construction is expected to start in Q4 and take 24 months to complete.The Traders Market will create the first smart freezone market place in the Middle-East for the retail and wholesale industries and aims to also serve the wider region.

Death Toll Mounts as Lekima Roils Eastern China

BEIJING, Aug 12 (Reuters) - The death toll from typhoon Lekima in eastern China rose to 44 people on Monday morning, according to official data, as the storm continued up the coast, racking up billions of dollars in economic losses and widely disrupting travel.An additional 12 people were recorded dead from the storm, including seven from Zhejiang province and five from Shandong, with 16 people missing, according to data from provincial emergency bureaus and state media.State broadcaster CCTV had put the death toll at 32 on Sunday.Typhoon Lekima made landfall early on Saturday in China's Zhejiang province, with winds gusting up to 187 kmh (116 mph).

Tsuneishi Bags Order for 10 Bulkers

Japanese shipping company Nissen Kaiun has ordered ten Handysize bulkers from compatriot shipbuilder Tsuneishi Group.Though official sources maintained that Tsuneishi Shipbuilding receives order for several units from a shipowner in Japan for the newly developed 42,000-metric-ton log and bulk carrier TESS42 without revealing the name and numbers, some media-outlets report that the order was for ten bulkers and name of the buyer is Nissen Kaiun.According to Asiasis, the contract has a total value of about $250 million.

Anthony Veder Expands LNG Fleet

Dutch gas carrier operator Anthony Veder said it is expanding its fleet with a 30,000-cbm liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier that is currently being constructed by China‚Äôs  Zhejiang Xinle Shipbuilding in Ningbo.The vessel will be completed by Zhejiang Xinle Shipbuilding under supervision of Anthony Veder and is expected to be ready for worldwide trading in the summer of 2019, said a press release from the operator of gas tankers in all the segments of gas shipping, from LPG shipping to LNG shipping and from CO2 shipping to ethylene shipping.After delivery it will be renamed with a Coral name.

First U.S. LNG Cargo Since Trade Tariffs Arrives in China

A liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo from the United States has arrived in China, the first such cargo since Beijing imposed a tariff on U.S. imports, shipping data from Refinitiv Eikon showed on Monday.The cargo was shipped on the tanker Ribera Duero Knutsen from the Sabine Pass terminal operated by Cheniere Energy .It arrived at the Zhejiang Ningbo LNG terminal in China on Nov. 11, the data showed.This is the first U.S. LNG cargo to be shipped to China since Sept. 10, according to the data. China to Slash Ship Emissions in Ports Earlier than Expected

LNG Imports Climb at CNOOC's Zhejiang Terminal
