Agip has recently rebranded as Eni, while simultaneously announcing plans to increase penetration of its lubricant brands in North America across all industries. Gianfranco Mosconi (above) President and CEO of Eni USA R&M Co., shares the vision behind the strategy. Gianfranco Mosconi, with a Bachelor in Civil Engineering and a Master’s in Hydraulic Engineering, has been working for Eni since 1984.
NJ Governor Christie: $11M Ferry Building Deal for Tuckahoe Shipyard
New Jersey Gov. Christopher Christie, State Sen. Joseph Kyrillos, Monmouth County Freeholder Director Thomas Arnone, NY Waterway President & Founder Arthur E. Imperatore and Yank Marine President & Founder John C. Yank Jr. of Tuckahoe today announced an $11 million contract to build two state-of-the-art ferries, the first NY Waterway ferries built in the Garden State since the Weehawken-based ferry service started service December 3, 1986.
Floating Production Systems: Market Update
Currently, 319 oil/gas floating production units are now in service, on order or being remarketed for reuse. FPSOs account for 66% of the existing systems, 73% of systems on order. Another 25 floating LNG processing systems are in service or on order. Liquefaction floaters account for 16%, regasification floaters 84%. No liquefaction units are yet in service – all 4 are on order. In addition, 102 floating storage units are in service, on order or available.

Euronav to Raise $150M of Perpetual Convertible Preferred Equity
The board of directors of Euronav NV announced that the company has raised $150 million (USD) via a private placement of a perpetual convertible preferred equity instrument. The instrument will be issued at par and will bear an interest of 6% during the first five years payable annually in arrears in cash or in shares at the option of the company. The price against which the securities can be contributed is €5.776 (or $7.928715 at EUR/USD exchange rate of 1.3727) per common share.

Kongsberg Sonar Aids University Geo-Archeological Survey
Researchers from Plymouth University (UK) conducted a marine geoarchaeological survey off Methoni, Greece. The Kongsberg GeoAcoustics Dual Frequency Side Scan Sonar and the GeoPulse Pinger Sub-Bottom Profiler were used for visualisation of underwater antiquities over the local underwater archaeological site, within the GE.N.ESIS project. There is archaeological evidence supporting that the human presence in the Methoni Bay, Greece, dates back to the Bronze Age.
New Sonar Allows Hydrographic Surveying at Speed
Sweden's MMT Group has purchased a new Kongsberg EM2040-04 dual TX high resolution multibeam system which has been installed on their survey vessel 'MV Seabeam'. The new EM 2040-04 dual TX model, which consist of two TX-Transmitters and two RX-Receivers is designed for mapping in shallow areas at higher speed and will deliver high resolution, accurate survey data and great range performance (both depth and swath width) at the highest resolution available in the market, claims Kongsberg.
