Mumbai Port's Storm Gate Closure

Mumbai Port has announced that from 1 June 2014 to 11 September 2014, due to repairs to the outer lock gate, there will be no shipping operations inside Indira Dock Basin during night and the storm will remain closed at night. During the day, the storm gate will not be operated. Shipping movements will occur approximately 3 hours before highwater to top of highwater,depending upon the prevailing tidal and weather conditions.Source: Mumbai Port Trust GAC India at india@gac.com
New Quay Structures At Lerwick Harbor

Lerwick Port Authority plans to construct new quay structures at Holmsgarth and Dales Voe South Development both at Lerwick, Shetland. Benzene & Pygas storage Upgraded at Vopak, Rotterdam

Vopak Terminal Botlek has completed the upgrading of its Benzene and Pygas storage capacity. The new Benzene and Pygas tanks and infrastructure meet the latest customer and regulatory requirements and further reinforce the Aromatics trading hub in the Port of Rotterdam. Total (seabound) throughput of BTX and pygas in the extensive Rotterdam cluster adds up to almost 3 million tonnes. This includes handling at terminals, production plants and ship-ship transhipment.
Coast Guard Seizes Illegal Catch, Crew Member Injured

The Coast Guard interdicted a Mexican fishing crew poaching in South Texas, Thursday, after it was pursued by a Coast Guard aircraft and intercepted by the 87-foot Coast Guard Cutter Cobia. In an unrelated incident after intercepting the lancha, a crewmember from the Cobia fell and was injured, requiring a medevac.
