Dual Fuel LNG Carriers to be Built in China
Lloydâs Register (LR) has signed the classification contract for six 174,000 m3 liquefied natural gas (LNG) tankers to be built by Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co. Ltd. When delivered, the ships will load LNG in Gladstone, Australia for a number of Chinese import terminals - Qingdao, Beihai, Tianjin, Lianyungang and Wenzhou. Steel cutting on the first ship will be in January 2014. The final ship will be delivered in the fourth quarter, 2017.
Synapsis for German Containership Newbuildings
The German navigation system integrator Raytheon Anschütz was selected by the German-based shipowner NSC to supply the latest generation of the IMO-certified Synapsis Integrated Navigation System (INS) to a series of 9,000 TEU Containership newbuildings. Bourbon Orders MacGregor Subsea Crane
MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has won an order for a 150-ton active heave-compensated (AHC) subsea crane from leading offshore oil and gas marine services specialist, Bourbon. This builds on a contract that was secured at the end of 2007 from the operator for ten similar cranes. This crane will be delivered in August 2014 and is, as per nine of the previous orders, for a Bourbon Evolution 800 multi-purpose support vessel under construction at Zhejiang Shipyard, in China.

China Shipyard to Build Wallenius Post-Panamax Ro-Ro's
Wallenius Lines has contracted with Xingang Shipyard in China for two Post Panamax car-carriers for delivery in 2015 and 2016. The vessels will be 200 m long with a beam width of 36.5 m and a car carrying capacity equivalent to 8,000 cars. A combination of large capacity, optimized hull design and a number of energy saving features is intended to ensure the efficient operation and low environmental impact of these vessels.

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) updates the status of the containership 'MOL Comfort' as of 18:00 Dubai time on June 25, 2013. The owners inform that the fore part is located near 15'43"N 69'07"E. The aft part is drifting near 14'03"N 65'30"E in an east-northeast direction. The weather at the site is still adverse. Some of the containers were lost, but majority of the cargo are confirmed to be aboard the fore and aft part.
