New Leadership Role for Titan's Shelby Harris
Veteran Salvage Master Shelby Harris has been named Titan Salvage’s new director of marine operations in Asia. Shelby will bring more than 15 years of experience responding to large-scale domestic and international salvage and wreck removal projects. He will be based out of the company’s Singapore office and equipment depot, a 45,000-square-foot site west of the city, and report to Titan’s Director of Operations Patrick Keenan.
Saudi Cement Shortage: Ten Million Tons on Order
Saudi Port Authority (SPA) says cement shipments have been coming since implementation of the decrees of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah to import 10 million tons of cement to cover local demand. Citing the press spokesman for the SPA, Arab News reports that seven seven ships with 202,000 tons of cement reached Dammam Port last week; one ship was loaded with 50,000 tons and another with 45,000 tons. Additionally, 72,000 tons will come through Jazan Port.

The US Coast Guard change-of-command ceremony for its 9th District, which spans the five Great Lakes, the St. Lawrence Seaway, and parts of the surrounding states; & at the same time a retirement ceremony for its departing commander. Vice Adm. Robert Parker, Coast Guard Atlantic Area commander, presided over the ceremony to transfer command of the 9th District from Rear Adm. Michael Parks to Rear Adm. Fred Midgette. Parks assumed command of the 9th District in April 2010.

While overall customer satisfaction with cruise lines is high, nearly one in five customers experience a problem while on their cruise, according to the J.D. Power 2013 Cruise Line Satisfaction Report. Disney Cruise Line (871) ranks highest in overall satisfaction among cruise line brands, followed by Royal Caribbean (838). Price (53%) and past experience with brand (39%) are the two primary reasons for selecting a cruise line.

China Warship Escorts Somali Food Aid Ship
'CNS Mianyang' takes over escort duties of a World Food Programme (WFP) aid ship from Italian warship 'ITS Zeffiro'. The Italian warship had been escorting the WFP vessel since she entered the pirate High Risk Area in the Western Indian Ocean a few days earlier. At an agreed location, CNS Mianyang took over the duty to escort through the Gulf of Aden to Djibouti. The WFP ship being due to arrive in the African port shortly.

Carnival To Deploy Larger Cruise Ships To New Orleans
Citing strong performance and growing consumer demand, Carnival Cruise Lines today announced its’ largest and newest line of ships will sail from the Port of New Orleans beginning in April 2014. First, Carnival will deploy the 3,006-passenger Carnival Sunshine to New Orleans Nov. 18, replacing the current 2,984-passenger Carnival Conquest. The Carnival Sunshine recently underwent a massive $155 million transformation.
