Dockwise Takes Delivery of MV Triumph
After successfully completing the submerging test and sea trials, MV Triumph has been delivered to the owners on 16 December 2008. The heavy transport vessel is designed to transport complex, high-value cargo like jack- up drilling units and has a carrying capacity in excess of 35,000 tons. Triumph will load its first cargo in Singapore. This vessel was converted at the Cosco shipyard at Guangzhou, China.

Last month saw the encounter of two Chinese ships of a very special kind at the Port of Hamburg. On 19 November 2008 the recently built 10,000 TEU vessel Cosco Indian Ocean, belonging to the Cosco Container Lines shipping company, docked at the HHLA Container Terminal Tollerort. Measuring some 1,148 ft in length, the Cosco Indian Ocean was on its maiden voyage. This was its first visit to Hamburg.
5th Incat for New York Water Taxi
Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding, Duclos Corporation, has delivered its fifth high-speed water taxi, Gene Flatow, to New York City-based New York Water Taxi. Like the four sisters before her, the bright yellow, all-aluminum catamaran, designed by Incat Crowther, measures 72 ft long and 27.3 ft abeam, and draws 5 ft. The water taxi is USCG-certified to carry 149 passengers but limited to only 99 passengers when operating at the City’s “water taxi” designated docks.
