Bayview Marine recently launched the first in the 15-boat series and is well pleased with the initial performance.The 44.3 by 30-foot hull is designed for maximum working space and stowage for lobster or crab traps. The first of the series of fiberglass vessels performed well on trials.
GTT Wins Tank Design Order for 8 LNG Carriers
GTT has received several orders concerning the tank design of eight new LNG carriers.Seven of the LNGCs will be built by the Korean Shipyard Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) on behalf of three ship-owners based in America, Oceania and Bermuda.GTT’s Mark III Flex technology has been selected to equip the LNG tanks of six LNGCs ordered by SHI and the Mark III Flex+ technology to equip the seventh. Each unit will offer a 174,000 m3 capacity.

With thousands of miles under her keel ferrying passengers from Woods Hole, Mass., to the private island of Naushon, part of the Elizabethan Island chain south of Woods Hole, the Comorant just underwent a four-month refit at Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding, which built the vessel in 1979. Pret Gladding, a co-founder of the Somerset, Mass.-based shipyard, designed the 56 ft., 49 passenger ferry for the Naushon Island Trust.
