Signet Construction of ASD Tug
Construction of Signet Maritime’s seventh ASD tug in less than four years, M/V Signet Vigilant is underway at Signet Shipbuilding & Repair in Pascagoula, Mississippi. The 30 metric ton bollard pull, EPA Tier III, ASD vessel will be the first Castleman Maritime design for Signet with delivery slated for July 2014. The new tug will operate from Signet’s International Operations Center in Ingleside, Texas where it will perform rig escort, ship, and barge assist work.

RS Exhibits at Kormarine 2013
Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) will participate in Kormarine 2013 in Busan, Republic of Korea, one of the largest international exhibitions of maritime industry. On 22-25 October the foremost exhibition of the maritime industry in Asia will gather leaders of shipbuilding industry. RS will undertake a scaled-up participation in this event. Kalmar, Global Service to Develop Diesel-LNG Reachstacker
Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has started a project, as the primary external industrial partner of the Greencranes pilot action, for the engineering and realization of a reachstacker prototype using dual fuel technology (diesel and liquefied natural gas, LNG). Kalmar signed a partnership agreement with its customer Global Service, the leader of the pilot. Global Service is located in Livorno, Italy and is a player in the equipment rental business in the country.
Brazil Orders Seven Ferries for 2014 World Cup, 2016 Olympics
In preparation for the 2014 World Cup, followed by the Olympic Games in 2016, Rio de Janeiro State in Brazil has decided to greatly expand the transport capacity of the Rio de Janeiro – Niterió shipping route. An order has been placed with Afai Southern Shipyard China for the building of seven double-ended aluminum ferries with an LOA of 78 m and a capacity of 2,000 passengers. The ferries will largely supplement the existing fleet.
